I bought this pump brand new in December 2021. I had the rack and pinion replaced at the same time as the pump. New lines, an inline filter installed, air bled from lines with new GM power steering fluid for a 2000 Pontiac Trans AM. After all this, the pump worked great and silent for 20 months. But keep in mind I have several cars and I do not drive it every day anymore since we are back to Barack Obama prices at the pump again with the current guy in the Oval office. I started the car up yesterday to move it around in the garage and the pump was making loud noises and after moving it I saw drips of fluid on the pavement. I popped the hood and looked under the car. It appears the leaking is coming from the shaft seal of the pump.

Cardone is less than helpful to resolve this issue since I did not purchase it through them otherwise if I did it would have been under warranty. If you are going to buy this part, do it from an auto parts store if you want the warranty to be honored. Do not purchase it through Amazon or any other part you would expect a warranty to be honored.

The media could not be loaded.

It was beyyer than going to the store and paying almost 40$ more and it was easy to install, I would definitely recommend the filter and getting all of the old fluid out of the system

I recently purchased a new power steering pump for a 1999 Trans am. I was busy so finally got around to installing it. It lasted maybe two days and went out. Unfortunately it was passed the return day.

I’ve been through 3 of these now. They are all rebuilt and even the new ones have been failing. I’m crossing my fingers on this 3rd one.

Its a ps pump so theres not much to say it works or it doesn’t and on day one this worked fine. I will update if it takes a dive
