I couldn’t be happier with this component. I’ve used rebuilt pumps before with mixed results. They all performed the job of providing sufficient fluid pressure to drive the power steering system, but they all weren’t uniformly quiet. If a rebuilt pump is bad, it can have a noisy bearing or produce an annoying whine noise that doesn’t go away. This new Cardone Select pump replaced the weak original pump on my 07 Honda Accord, and aside from being a little fiddly to remove and replace due to working space, it worked perfectly and silently. Typically you get a little whining noise from air that is introduced into the system when you work on it. Once the air is worked out of the system/fluid it quiets down. In this instance, and for the first time to my recollection, the system was perfectly quiet from first start-up. I don’t know if the credit goes to the new pump, or my careful work, but either way it all went swimmingly and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The next time I need replace a power steering pump, I’m not going to role the dice on a rebuilt unit, I’m just going to get one of these new ones.

Update 2-2019:
Problem was that a bolt on the bottom of the unit was probably not tightened when it was rebuilt. Check this bolt before installing on your car.

I bought this Aug 2016 and it failed March 2018. I paid extra for this thinking that it would be high quality. Well, it did work great for 18 months but then started leaking heavily after only about 10k miles. I refilled tank and found that this pump is leaking more than 1 drip per second from what looks like the bottom brass cover, on back side of pump. I can’t tell exactly what the problem is until I get if off the car, but is it not a hose or an o-ring from what I can observe. But whatever the exact location of the lead in the pump, is, when I get this pump off and I am going to put a different re-manufacturer’s pump back on.
