At its current ~$19, the price has dropped considerably from the ~$25 when I ordered it. That’s good, because I was disappointed with it at the higher price. As the listing and other reviewers note, this won’t charge a “dead” battery. According to the Internet, a nominal 12V battery is considered dead below 10V. I couldn’t get this to charge/restore a deep cycle battery that measured 11.2V by a multimeter, so I can’t say at what cutoff voltage this charger will begin to function. The repair symbol would light and it would go into the blinking mode like it was working, but nothing would happen.
The only other lead acid battery I had around the house was in my car, which I didn’t care to use as a test object. Since I couldn’t verify its pulse repair/desulfator function, I would have given this item 3 stars as a standard charger at the higher price — take it or leave it by my rating system. At its now lower price, it’s worth an additional star for the variable trickle-to-full charge capability (3A, 6A, or 10A), and consider it a bonus if you can get the desulfator to work.

This is a small battery maintainer that is inexpensive but functional. One of the things I look for in a charger is the desulfator function to restore batteries to their original power rating. This unit is small, making it easy to use on riding mowers or quads where the space for batteries is limited. I use this unit for maintaining my boat batteries over the long winter. Overall, it was a very good purchase.
