Good quality and strong – jkust what I needed!
Myself, inc. –
I have one of these exact mounts that I bought at a Best Buy store in 2007 and used up until the end of 2012. I replaced it with the exact one as it is the only one with a goose-neck long enough to reach across my dash from my windshield. I replace it because the suction cup became brittle and failed over time, something to be expected with exposure of polymers to constant sunlight. Also the locking detent in the back of the suction cup failed as I pulled the unit out, also due to aging in sunlight.
The suction cup, when I properly mounted it, -did not move for 4 years- (!) until I removed it one day for a thorough windshield cleaning, which is when the above happened. This is a daily driver, parked outside in the sun, and taken off-pavement about once a month. Impressive hold!
In 2010 I removed the multi-way locking holder from the mount and used my phone manufacturer’s dedicated car mount cradle. Luckily the key way ‘nub’ on the front of this unit appears to be a universal thing, and fit my Motorola Droid car cradle perfectly.
I did use the multi-way holder long ago before I got my Droid, and I remember it working perfectly well for the phone I had at the time. It is very adjustable to avoid the pressing of buttons when closing, etc. The quick release button is an excellent feature, releasing the phone and allowing it to drop into my hand with a one-handed motion. Using the ratcheting lock was an easy one-handed operation as well. The mount also allowed enough room at the bottom to plug in the proprietary charger, while still having enough purchase to keep the phone stationary even when driving over rough ground.

I got this mount to hold my Samsung Focus in one of the center dashboard vents in my 2011 Camry. It works PERFECTLY for this. Based on the mount design, I believe it would work in most car vents. This mount is amazing value for money IMO.
Pro:
+ Vent mount works great: two adjustable spring-loaded hooks on top, a pivoting support on the buttom to rest against the bottom edge of the vent (dashboard).
+ Cradle is well padded, and easily adjusts its width to snugly hold your device
+ Cradle attaches to the base via a ball joint with a tightening ring to fix its position, so you can pivot it up/down/left/right/whatever.
+ Includes hardware for both the vent mount and a dashboard adhesive mount, nice to have options!
+ Cradle has a simple ratchet to firmly adjust sides to hold your device in place
Con:
– None relevant so far.
The kit comes with a 4-page pamphlet that explains how to use the hook and adhesive mounts. The adhesive mount (which I didn’t use) includes a mounting plate, a large piece of two-way adhesive, an alcohol swab, and four screws to screw the cradle’s mounting plate onto. Total install time for me using the hooks was about five minutes: two minutes to read the instructions, two minutes to figure out the right way to hold the spring hooks to keep them open and stick them in my vent, and one minute to adjust the cradle to hold my phone.
The hook mounting mechanism is clever. It includes two long spring-loaded hooks which go at the top of the mounting plate. Despite my vents being curving from say, a 30-degree from vertical to 50-degree from vertical, it had no problem mounting. The hooks attatch to the cradle in a slot that lets them slide left and right. The hooks themselves can be rotated 360 degrees so they can attach to loovers / vent slats facing any direction. Pretty smart!
The cradle has a few MM of some sort of heavy foam rubber on all the surfaces that touch your phone: the two side mounts, the fold-out bottom struts, and the backing. This should minimize vibration and jarring during driving, which is a nice feature.
There’s a small tab that sticks out below the right side mount of the cradle which you can push in to change the bracket width. It appears to have some sort of ratcheting action which you can use to move in steps.
Overall, this thing works great. I’m enjoying having a hands-free phone setup in my car, and as a bonus, being able to play my own music from my Windows Phone as I commute.

My first smartphone was a Droid X, and I really liked the car dock that was available with it. However, when I eventually got a Galaxy Nexus, I was surprised to find out that there wasn’t the same sort of car dock. I was ok with seeking out other solutions, because buying a car dock every time I upgraded my phone was getting too expensive. I’ve been using this dock since June of 2012, and so far it’s worked out far better than any of the other (many, many other) mounts I’ve tried.
The Bracketron device holder (the part that actually holds the phone) seems to be universal across all of their different models, which is good. The only problem I had with this dock is that one day I popped my phone in the holder, squeezed it closed, and poof! The support arms shattered into little bits. However, I happened to have another Bracketron vent mount holder that had the vent mounts break off, and I was able to pull it off and attach it to the cup holder base. I guess the plastic in these isn’t so great, but at least I know it’s easy to replace.
The cup holder base has held strong, I’ve only had to adjust it twice. My cup holders are the chintzy little ones that pop out of the dash and only have some wire supports, so if it works in them I imagine it would work in any others.
The holder was easy to adjust to hold my Galaxy Nexus in landscape or portrait position, but due to the placement of the buttons and the limitations of the holder arms, my Galaxy Note 2 can only go in portrait mode.
I has an NFC sticker from tagstand that sends commands to the phone to put it in car dock mode, so this mount has stayed with me through my last two phones. At this price, even if I have to replace the holder every so often, I’m very pleased.

Works very well and is adjustable for any size of phone (good for my wife and me with different phones. You need to be gentle with the expanding mechanism as it can get jammed or broken if you force it too much.

I have a 6P iPhone and it holds it very, very securely. Lots of room for the cord and in the right place. Inexpensive as well, but a solid unit.
