Amazon Customer –
After installation, I tried to open the tailgate, and there was so much force that it flew open, shattering my glass in the process.
It’s costing me $500 to replace my window. Such a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else.
Awful 😖

Works great

These fit perfectly on my CRV and work well…a bit too well. They might be overpressurized for the application…the lift gate pops up with much more force than stock new/expected and takes some heft to close. Hoping they break in and some of the pressure wears down over a couple months. Hindsight might look elsewhere but they do work fine.

Fits great and does the job but you have to ensure trunk is shut firmly the shocks are stronger that OEM

These fit perfectly 2014 CRV. They have a little too much pressure and lift is not damped, so have to hold onto hatch.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was such an easy fix for our issue (trunk not fully opening and me hitting my heading loading things) that I had to chime in. That being said, ignore the instruction packet that comes with it. For the CR-V, you don’t need it. All you need to know is that you need some good needle-nose plyers, then you use them to grip the clip on each connector and pull back just a bit to release the clasp from the car. Same for both top and bottom. Watch for the falling trunk as you release though. Same process when installing the new ones: pull back the clip just a bit with the plyers while pressing the clasp down over the ball/nob connection point. Boom. Done in 5min. Easiest repair I’ve ever done and best $20 I’ve ever spent.

Didn’t dislike anything about these. They fit perfectly 2013 Honda CRV😊

Buying auto parts on Amazon is not very reliable as this item indicates. The part made the liftgate violently pop open making it unsafe to use.

They fit like they were ……….made to fit………operates smoothly………gives the proper “push”.
when opening……

I put these on a 2012 Honda Crv. They opened up with such force it nearly took my head off. On the second try it opened so violently that it actually broke the lift strut, it poped off and the lift gate came crashing down nearly taking my head off for the secnd time. Way to powerful for the application. Lil dangerous.
