Great product at a good price. I always keep a can in stock for various odd jobs.
It goes a long way and the only reason I had to purchase another can is that I reached the practical shelf life of my old one. Since I have had my old can for at least a dozen years, I wan’t too disappointed.
It’s primary use is for auto repair but I have used it more for other things.
I often use this when I want to make repairs to plastic items. It beats superglue by a bunch and you can build up a good layer to support weak parts. It can be used for any material.
I have found this product valuable for repairing damaged or decaying wood. I dig out the loose wood, seal it with Elmer’s “Rotted Wood Repair”, and then fill the voids and big spaces with 3 M Filler. It shapes well and is easy to sand. The finished repair can be painted with regular house paint. It leaves a solid surface that cannot be distinguished from wood and I guarantee that the repair will last. The only problem is that you cannot drive a nail into it. If you need to nail or screw into this product, you will meed an adequate pilot hole to work with. I have never had the need. I have done repairs on many outside surfaces including trim and window sills and have not seen any sign of weathering after a number of years in our Wisconsin weather.
I have also used 3 M Filler to create molds for various purposes. It can be poured, formed, and machined to any shape. Just remember to use a release agent such as silicon spray. It works for both molds and parts and I have used it to make insulators for ham radio projects.
This is a versatile product and will come in handy in any workshop.

Delivered in 4 days because it does not ship by air. I used it to cover up a 1″ gap between galvanized a steel culvert and extruded polystyrene panels, with fiberglass cloth backing. It does work on polystyrene, although it tends to erode the foam surface a bit before hardening. Does not come with instructions, see online videos. Basically, stir the can of Bondo, knead the tube of hardener, extract 20% (or less) of the can onto a 12″x12″ flat non-porous surface (not the plastic dish it comes with), and mix in a proportional amount of hardener. Spread with disposable putty knife within five minutes as the material begins to harden and get lumpy after that. Use gloves.

First off, wow, did this product work, and work well. I was looking at body filler for a roughly 8”x0.5” hole in my plastic front bumper. I was about to spend 30 dollars on another brand with less ounces than this product. Luckily I found the Bondo not only had more, but was way cheaper.
The product worked amazing. Patched the hole on my front bumper and with a little paint, I’m the only one that knows the bumper was damaged in the first place. Instructions on how to use can be found online (read first to ensure you have all of your essential products with you).
This product dries quickly, does not drip and hardens very solid (I pushed down on it to test).
I highly recommend this product. I only used maybe less than 6 oz of filler, but I will buy this again when/if needed in the future.
Thanks!

Mixing the bondo is very straightforward – I use a wooden paint stirrer to scoop the required bondo paste onto a paper or plastic plate then squirt a dab of the red catalyst paste (in a resealable tube that comes in the enclosed top lid) and stir it all together. You’ll have about 2-3 minutes before it hardens beyond the ability to mold it, so plan ahead. I used it recently to smooth out the flaws on my deck, as done before, and anticipate 5-7 years before having to do it again.
