This is a neat and tidy little switch. It’s not a replacement for a battery isolator as it would not handle the current draw. Fine for a RV, van conversion or fresh water application to use on a sub-system that you want an addition safety switch or the ability to isolate for repairs. It fits easily in a panel but not that the reach is limited to less than 1/2 inch thickness.

This is a decent battery disconnect for any piece of outdoor equipment. I think they could have used a little stronger plastic but it’s not too bad. It does work good though and for the price it’s definitely worth it. And installed easy and looks really nice.

I’m not really sure how to review a battery isolator, mainly because it’s just an on off switch, but it does work well and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do and the size of it is fantastic as I purchased it for a UT to turn off and on power to a set of amplifiers for a sound system that I installed in it. That way it doesn’t draw power to the amplifiers when the vehicle is off since it’s an older one and there’s no isolation for an ignition circuit versus a constant on 12 V circuit. Decent product does exactly what it says it does.

This is quite easy to install, you just mark out a circle from the inner part of the fastening ring, drill it, slide this in and use the ring to tighten the switch in place. Your wires ending in O-ring terminals are easiest if you put them onto the wire mounting screw itself, then screw that down, rather than trying to hold them still in place and add the screw over them, but either way it only takes a moment, and with a tight fix the wires stay in place firmly without any shifting.
The switch itself has a spring inside that causes it to “snap” and “lock” in place with a satisfying feeling, it is not at all loose or “wiggly”. The “out” setting lets you remove the knob to prevent engaging the attached engine or device, a sort of “key” for security, though as I didn’t need that feature I did find it a hint irritating whenever the spring tension of the knob would snap that little bit more to “out” instead of “off”, and I’d have to make sure to check that I was leaving it at “off”, so as not to have knob fall off and get lost.
In use this has done great with the 12-volt battery in my DIY solar battery box, it is strong, weather-resistant, and does great for controlling the power as desired. Plenty happy overall, I would choose this again.
