Works as described, hasn’t ruined my yz450fx battery and hasn’t burned down my house! Those were my two needs. This fulfills it. Love that it comes with the hard wired pigtail to have a chord hang down on the bike, to quickly connect the charger. It also has a nice little cap on the cord to protect it from getting mud or dirt in it. Works great!

I bought this to charge up the Lithium ion battery I run in my Yamaha Roadliner, and glad I did! I had a parasitic power drain in my system, so if it sat more than a week the battery was too low to spin the starter.. This charges it up in less than 45min…which is a FAR cry from the 12-24hr charge times of a normal lead battery.
I will say though….IF the battery has drained past a certain %, this will not “wake it up”, i.e it won’t charge, or won’t reset the cutoff circuit that prevents the battery from completely depleting (which, apparently will unceremoniously kill a lithium battery dead, permanently). The trick I learned in this situation is to use a normal lead battery charger at first…apparently the amperage being pumped to the Lithium battery from the normal charger resets the circuit…something like that. Anyway, a normal charger will bring the charge up to 60-70% within 30min, and then I switch over to this to top it off (maybe another 15min), and I’m ready to roll.

I kept it hooked up to my battery all winter & come springtime, it was still fully charged. It’s nice that it comes with the universal hookups that I can plug directly into my battery without having to fuss with a second set of terminal wires — although that is an option. Also used it to recharge my battery just enough to get back on the road after leaving the key on overnight. Less than 5 minutes & I was operational again. Awesome product & excellent value.

I have used it twice. First time was initially charging the battery, and the second time was after I had let my bike sit for about two weeks. The indicator tells you where you’re at and the charger is compact enough to carry in a backpack. Highly recommend.

This is the only lithium ion (not for LiFePO4 battery) I can find on Amazon. All the rest “lithium” battery charger is specifically for LiFePO4 battery only. I learnt that lithium ion and LiFePO4 use different charging algorithms. I use it to charge the Hercules 12V 2.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Compact Lightweight Battery from Harbor Freight. Inside it’s actually 3X18650 3.7V lithium ion batteries with BMS board. The open voltage as measured for the battery pack is 10.9V in over the shelf condition. I remove the plastic enclosure and replace a Honda gas lawn mower starter sealed lead acid battery with built in SAE quick disconnect charger port I made. After about 1 hour charge, it auto stops once it reaches certain voltage above 12V. Before purchasing, make sure you know the battery type, voltage range. I recommend the product. It works beautifully.

LITHIUM BATTERY OWNERS PLEASE READ!
My lithium battery was bought brand new around May 2017 and powered my bike with no issue all summer and fall. I disconnected the negative terminal for winter storage but the battery wasn’t fully charged beforehand. I received this charger at the end of March, connected it to my bike via the SAE connector and . . . nothing. The power light came on but it didn’t actually charge my battery (no charge light illuminated) so I assumed it was defective and planned on sending it back it. I connected my old DieHard non-lithium charger and in less than one hour, I was able to start my bike. It’s still not warm enough for me to take my bike out of storage yet but before sending this unit back I tried something; I connected the DieHard charger again for 30min and then connected this charger . . . NOW the charge light is illuminated and the battery is charging! I suspect the voltage dropped too low in the battery despite the negative terminal being disconnected and this charger couldn’t “wake” the battery. That or I didn’t leave it on long enough when I first tried. Either way I am disappointed that this charger didn’t charge right away (NEVER had that issue with DieHard charger) hence the 4 star rating but that could be a characteristic of lithium batteries themselves. Either way, if you try this charger and it doesn’t work right away, please consider “starting” with a standard charger first as it may help. I’ll keep this one and provide any new updates.
