Solid ring terminals are integrated into the cables, making them robust. It is intended to be permanently installed on your cart, boat, RV, or other vehicle. However, it can also be used as a portable, stand-alone charger with ease. Lead acid, AGM, and lithium will all be charged by it. Like the battery tender I have from this business, this is a well-made tool. Like the other items I own from them, I would place it in the upper-middle range of battery charger quality and assume it will last for many years.

“Battery Tender” is a well-established brand with a reputation of reliability in their products. I’ve owned some of their other chargers in the past and was always happy with them. This one is no different. Incredibly well constructed and heavy. The cables are sturdy with built in ring terminals that are solid. It is designed to be permanently mounted on board your RV, boat, cart, or whatever. But it can also be used easily as a standalone, portable charger. It will charge lead acid, AGM and lithium. I have tested it several times on my 12V 300AH LiFePO4 battery utilizing a multimeter and clamp meter. It charges right at 14.6 volts and at or near the 26 amps that it is rated for. You get what they say you get. Love Battery Tender and will always use their products!

I was expecting this to be similar in size and weight to a typical trickle charger or battery tender which are normally about half the size and weigh about the weight of a cell phone. This is a beast, it is about 6 to 8 inches long and has a lot a weight to it. I love that you can install the nodes on the battery and disconnect the tender when not in use or install it in the engine compartment as long as you have enough space. The electric cord is heavy duty, so I am not concerned about heat affecting the device. As far as function, it works just like any other trickle charger or tender with the exception that this also allows for lithium charging which is an addition to others I have used. I also noticed it did seem to complete cycling much quicker than others I have used, so yes this is expensive but should work for most applications and last a long time.

This is a big hefty and well-cooled thing that you can bolt down for long-term use, and which will continuously shoot 200 watts of power into your battery until it is fully charged, and then gently ramp down to trickle for battery maintenance without boiling off the electrolyte, if you still use lead-acid. Not for ones that can’t be charged at 15 amps. Should work with the BMS of modern 12 volt lithium batteries.

This item is meant to be a hardwire charger that you place on a tractor or some other system with a 12 V battery. It is not really meant to be a charger for occasional use although it can be used that way. It has a high current function, and then when the voltage of the battery hits a particular level, it moves to a trickle charger mode, so it does not overheat your battery and cause it to boil over. It works exactly as described and should function well.
