The main aluminum part is very sturdy, nicely machined and finished, but the rods are not stainless. Only the nuts are stainless. There are a lot of batery tie downs offered by various vendors and I chose this one because they clearly advertise that that the hardware is all stainless steel. Not true, so I have to give this only one star. I would have given 5 stars otherwise. Please change the description on this item and update the pictures to show the cheap steel hardware it comes with.

This has a better look to it than your basic hold down bracket and it is stout.

When I bought my truck, I guess the OEM tie down was lost or damaged along the way. The previous owner used one of those fabric web straps that you see on a boat battery box. On the road trip home from buying the truck, I used a cheap auto parts store kit to secure it better for the 12 hour drive. That kit has been working ok since then but I always had it in my mind to make or find a better solution. When I came across this burly tie down, I didn’t hesitate to put it on order. It’s just as beefy and strong looking and feeling in person as it comes across in the pictures. The aluminum tie bar is nicely machined, finished, and sized perfectly. Finally, I can take that little project off the back burner and out of my head!

This worked fine on my truck. Good quality product. I would recommend it as a replacement battery hold down.
