Installed valve. Won’t let gas pass into tank. Spring seemed stiff before installation. Have to drop tank and see if I can decrease the tension on spring. Not fun

This was a good replacement when the filler neck on the gas tank broke. It is well built and super strong. The only flaw with it is the spring on the check valve is too stiff so filling gas now takes forever since the pump keeps clicking off. I have to fill it super slow for it to work. Now I have to figure a way to reduce the tension of the spring now that it’s installed since it isn’t safe to jam something in it to keep it open.

After reading a review that mentioned taking forever to fill tank We separated the check valve and cut 7 coils off the spring. Making it equal in resistance to the stock check valve. Works perfectly now. By the way it arrived with the check valve installed upside down.

Had to remove the whole tank and disassemble the splash guard ball inside the inlet tube so the tank would take gas.

After reading a couple of the reviews especially the one that mentioned taking forever to fill tank, I did the same as David did. I separated the check valve and cut 7 coils off the spring. Again as David D. Mention, it equals in resistance to the stock check valve. Now works perfectly. Oh and one more thing, in agreement with David D. the check valve arrived installed upside down. But thanks to David D advisement it’s all good. As you an kn the photos the modification is not hard, you see the check valve came install upside down and then after the modification as you can see on thrnother photo, helped correct it. This was a simple fix and not to hard to do. 👍

I follow what David and Latin mention in their reviews by cutting the coils to minimise the valve resistance, but I cut only 5, since mine did not feel to much resistance, also I wished they provided few larger nylon o-rings like the rubber washer to compensate on a little larger openings, now I have to wait on my repair again.
Update!
Unfortunately this check valve was not allowing proper flow at the pump even after cutting more springs than suggested, I end up getting a different check valve with swing to open instead of push back, I was able to solve the issue of a larger diameter opening by adding a ring seal to compensate the diameter needed to center the check valve plus adding two stainless steel washers on either side larger than the ones provided.
