Usually I would say, “Always buy OEM” but with this part I highly recommend after market. The OEM part is plastic and I bought and replaced it at least twice in a year’s time. The last time though, I decided to try this since it’s made of metal.
It was super easy to install you can watch a video to learn how. It fit perfectly (with a little persuasion). It’s lasted since I installed it and functions as it should. The price is right and knowing that I won’t have to buy another one (I don’t expect this one to snap in half like the OEM one did) is nice.

Terrible item, does not fit claimed vehicle specs, does not have proper holding tabs either. By the time I got a mechanic to look at it, the return window had been closed, less than a month from delivery…shady…..shady. –
I do not own a drill, just a basic household toolbox. After over a year, and allowing an ex to try fixing it so long ago, I wanted to start making basic repairs to “Blue” my 2011 Ford F150. This was one of my first personal fixer-uppers. Youtube was no help, as they wanted me to have a drill, to specially shape a wire or a pin to place in a drilled hole…BUT THIS DEVICE, HOLY SMOKES, this is the ultimate fix! No need for drilling, just replace the factory faulty part with this solid piece of metal that screws tightly down into place (no more falling out), and boom, fixed!!! Totally worth buying and trying if you’re having an issue with your fuel door assembly flopping open willy-nilly on you, all loosey-goosey like!

What an awesome product! Fixed my F150 gas cap issue in 10 minutes and saved me a few hundred dollars from going to the damn ripoff dealer. Very easy to install after viewing a couple videos on YouTube. Highly recommend for F150.

My fuel door would not remain close because spring and shaft were broken. This metal staff and my original spring allowed me to use my OEM equipment. Excellent!

2014 f150 ecoboost fuel door fix. Better then OEM, will out last any other plastic parts that ford uses.

Kit comes with everything needed to do the repair. Milled aluminum hinge piece is easy to install & eliminates the problems of the OEM parts. Only concern is that the screw threads may back out over time, threadlocker should help.

A simple fix to a major problem with the initial design. Don’t buy NOS from your local FORD dealer (which probably hasn’t been fixed, yet) when you can one here for much less $$. I would have preferred purchasing a Made-in-USA product but couldn’t find one. I suspect that FORD got their version from China, also.

Great fix for my 2013 F-150. Very easy to install once you get the fuel cap assembly out of the panel.
