- 【voltage current display】AUTOOL car battery change memory works with any 12V DC power source, including a running starter, DC 12V lead-acid battery, or other automotive DC 12V power outlet. It displays both voltage and current, red for voltage and blue for current.
- 【Leakage Detection】Connect the protector to the full spare battery and vehicle OBD port, the screen will display current and voltage data. Unplug the fuses in the car fuse box one by one, if the current suddenly becomes low, it proves that this fuse may have leakage. Then compare the car circuit diagram, find the circuit or electrical appliance connected to this fuse, you can find out the leakage situation.
- 【Protection Function】3 amp fuse built into the memory saver, better reliable on overload protection. Detection of abnormal battery voltage and current sends an alert and the screen flashes. Current clamp anti-reverse connection protection, reverse connection after the digital tube does not light, not power.
- 【Car Memory Saver】Protect the vehicle, when replacing the car battery, it can be used to supply power to the vehicle ECU and prevent the vehicle ECU data from being lost. Note: In the process of replacing the battery, the whole process to ensure that the vehicle power off, no electrical work, to avoid generating instantaneous excessive current.

This tiny device works good at allowing me to keep my car’s devices powered while I replace my main battery. This device is super easy to use, just hook up a spare 12v battery to the device via the battery clamps and then once it’s verified that the device is powered by the spare battery, I was able to connect the device’s obd ii connector to the car’s odb connector and the I can go ahead and replace the car battery. Once the car battery is replaced the odb connector can be removed. The second function of the device is the ability to find current leaks; do the same thing to hook the spare battery to the device and then connect it to the car’s odb port and then remove the car’s negative cable from the car battery. Then watch the current value on the device while going through the fuse panel and begin to remove one fuse at a time, once the current value drops the current leak has been found. For my test I knew that my interior lights were on so once I pulled the fuse to cut power to my interior the current dropped so that verified that I found where the car was using battery power. I think this method to find current leaks is pretty easy. All in all I found this car memory saver and current leak detector is a nice and simple device that adds to my troubleshooting tools in my toolbox.

This is a pretty easy one to use, connect the red and black alligator clips to the positive and negative terminals of a spare battery. Turn it on and it will show the voltage of the battery, then plug it into the OBD port under the dash. When you disconnect your main battery then this takes over so you don’t lose programming and computer memory. IF IT WORKED. It literally lasted a minute. I disconnected the main battery, checked back at the OBD memory saver and it was working. Checked on it a minute later and it was off. Got the new battery installed and then disconnected this OBD memory saver, tried to turn it back on. No good. Fuse is fine. Won’t come on. Junk. Spend the extra and buy a better product.
