These filters are the correct size and shape for my car, however air flow indicator on the filters would make the filters edge, the black insulated part, be lying on the shroud on top of the blower. The blower cover will not clip in because the lion the cover requires the filter to sit with the black insulated parts at the top. I would not recommend this item for 2008 Mazda rx-8 even though it says it fits this vehicle.

These cabin air filters are great OEM replacements for my 2006 Mazda RX8 (AT transmission). Two rectangular filters come in the pack and both are used when changing out the cabin air filter. Due to size constraints the filter had to be broken down into two halves so it can be inserted into the compartment that they are stored in. In the 2006 Mazda RX8 this compartment is behind the glove box tray. You simply remove the tray, slide the old filter halves out, and put the new ones in.

Be aware, the cabin air filter is different from the engine air filter. So if a mechanic mentions that your air filter needs to be changed make sure the mechanic specifies which air filter.

These filters really made a difference!
Increased air flow and much less dust and pollen in the cabin. Very easy to install, took about 10 minutes total but really worth the cost.

Quality Cabin Filter at a very reasonable price. Can be fitted to many different models, I installed in an Aston Martin Db9.

First off, the cabin filter I received does not look like the picture, so I am basing my review on what I received, assuming it was correct. The filter is what you should expect from a cabin filter. Nothing special really, but I like the idea this being carbon activated. I would have given this a 5 star, but since what I received did not actually fit even though it was supposed to, I had to consider this as part of the rating. Luckily though, on the item I received there is a fairly large plastic part which I was able to cut off quite easily with a wire cutter and that made the filter fit. The instructions did not mention anything about cutting to “adjust” the size, so I have to assume the part checker was just incorrect or the part I received was incorrect.
Regardless, in the end I was able to get it to fit it after cutting the plastic end part off.

The air smelled clean after installing this filter. My mechanic changed the filter to an OEM one as part of scheduled service, and that one stank of mildew. I’m having to buy again to get a good filter, and I recommend this filter.

Used on my wife’s rx8, the filters fit into place perfectly, the air filter for the interior of the car seems like over-kill, but it is nice every time I change the filters revealing the crude caught rather than entering the fan and being re-circulated in the cabin. Each time I have changed the filter I find that there is usually pine needles, leaves, and te obvious fine particles of dust imbedded into the filter media. Best price found compared to the Purolator brand (the brand I favor).

Whoever was responsible for deciding which way the install arrows point was not the best technical expert. The arrows that say “air flow” and point down should just say, “this side down”, because the airflow is actually upwards towards the vents and not downward towards the blower. If you have to install these in an RX-8, then just point the arrows on the filter down towards the floor so you don’t break the tabs on your air box lid ($26) to install these overpriced and mislabeled cabin air filters ($17). Enjoy the fresh smell, it’s nice.
