I used this on my 1964 Ford F-100 to replace the stock cable. I swapped in a 460/C6 combo and this is long enough to run along the frame rail and still clear the 3″ exhaust, steering column/box and brake booster.

Awesome

I had trouble getting the correct speedo cable for my pickup truck. If you have a 1968 F-250, this one works great!
Matthew Chandler –
Product arrived right on time, and well packaged. The transmission side of the cable required some very minor modifications to fit properly. There was a sort of ‘burr’ around the neck that wouldnt fit into the trans until i filed the burr off. Then the hold-down bracket needed to be straightened out before it would hold the cable into the trans. After that fitment was excellent. im still not complaining, for being the cheapest cable i could find (by nearly half) it is a great value. Now my speedometer works!

I purchase this for my 1959 Ford Galaxie, and while the ends attached just fine, what was in the middle didn’t work at all. This cable is listed as a fit for my car, but it’s not. This one’s 82″ long, not the 66″ that I needed, which is ATP part# Y-842, or Pioneer part# CA-3020. Since I wasn’t aware of this at the time, I installed it and had to put a loop in the cable under the dash. Boy, did that not work! If you have a ’59 Fairlane or Galaxie, do not buy this cable ‘cause it ain’t gonna fit. Sorry to bump two stars off for an otherwise perfectly good product, but replacement parts need to fit. I’ve since contacted Amazon; hopefully they’ll update their database.

For the price, I could not beat this anywhere. It is well made and fit like it was supposed to. I did squirt extra oil into the sleeve, I always do that.

Good product

This speedometer cable connected to my combination just fine. I would say the only thing I would do differently is get the same cable about 1 foot shorter. The cable being too long for my application is nothing bad about the cable, it’s just my situation with trying to get something not too short and I got it a little too long. I hope this helps someone with the same body style and motor/trans combo.
