Suction mounts sticks to dash perfectly in hot and cold weather. Spring loaded rubber side tabs hold phone in any position. Very impressive. Far better than any I’ve purchased in the past at a similar price.
Golfer’s Mom –
I would have rated this higher if it worked a little better with my galaxy s5 with the CM4 q card case. Without the case, it works just fine. But I don’t wan’t to take the case off, put the case on all the time. I know I will find a mount sooner than later that will work with the case on.
My Droid 4 mount had the option of with or without a case. It came with a piece that fit inside the mount for using the phone without the case.
I like the suction. I had a little bit of trouble getting it off the windshield. This is important in 100 degree heat. Has a good strong grip so it holds the phone securely. My problem is that I am in and out of the truck 20 times a night, so I need to be able to grab and go, as well as, pop in and go. This doesn’t work well in this scenario. A nice mount if you are not in and out of the car this many times in a 5 hour time period.
I haven’t sent this back yet because I want to see if it will work for my mothers Garmin. I’m sure it will.
Yes, I would recommend.

I rarely write reviews, but I just received this mount today, and its first impression upon me was so positive that I thought I should share my thoughts. While there are a few things about the product I would change, I think it’s a solid, well-designed car mount, overall and, compared with a couple other mounts I’ve tried (RAM X-Mount and ExoMount Touch), this is my pick. The materials used are a notch or two above those of most other mounts (the RAM mount being an exception). The fittings are all VERY secure, too — with everything tightened down, I expect zero bouncing or shaking — and its holder keeps my iPhone 5 in place really, really well (the spring-loaded holder is more effective and substantial than I thought it would be). Lastly, its “functional” industrial design really suits my Subaru’s “practical” interior (Subaru owners will understand). While it’s only been stuck to my windshield for an hour or so, it certainly feel like it’s on there pretty effin’ good, and I expect (hope) that it’s “sticky suction” mount will keep it right where it is.
Oh yeah…the cord clip is a nice touch. I’d completely dismissed this feature when I decided to purchase the mount, but it’s actually a pretty handy “home” for the end of my iPhone’s lightning cable. Who’d have thought…?
What would I change? I would have made the ball at the end of the arm just that — a ball on the end of an arm. Arkon decided to put the ball on a flat “plateau” that’s at a 60 degrees angle to the arm itself. This impedes the adjustability of the actual grip that connects to the arm, as it can only be articulated so far in one direction. Just make it a simple arm with a ball on the end to all for full freedom of adjustment, thanks. The other thing I’d change is the actual holder. While it’s well-designed and certainly holds the phone in place better than I’d thought, it could have been made even better than what it is by making it rectangular, as opposed to elliptical. This would give a phone more surface area to rest against, making things feel just a bit more solid when a phone is operated in place, and it would also have allowed for slightly wider grips on the ends of the holder.

Still stuck firmly to my windshield with no a single sign of budging. I’ve been able to tighten down the ball joint even further (as it heats up in the Texas sun), but it still adjusts smoothly and easily. It holds my iPhone 5 with Magpul case just fine — I can still insert it and remove it with one hand, and the cord holder has proven to be very convenient. This mount is the best I’ve used. I’ll bump it up to 5 out of 5 if it gets through the rest of the summer without coming unstuck from my windshield. 🙂

BOOOOO!!! Well, the base is still stuck to my windshield, but the little nut that tightens down the ball-and-socket connecting the grip to the mount’s arm cracked today when I was putting my phone in the grip. Could have been the 102 degree Texas sun, but still. I’ve contacted Arkon, who offers a two year warranty on its products, so we’ll see. I only requested that they send a replacement nut, as that’s all that’s needed. Will updated with notes on the customer support experience and, until I see how things pan out, have taken my review’s start rating down a notch, from 4 to 3.
UPDATE: 09/21/2014
YAY!!! I contacted Arkon and they sent me a new nut, so I’m back in business. Good product. Great support. Thanks Arkon.
Nervous and Weird –
I rarely write a glowing review, especially for cell phone gadgets. Over the past 10 years I’ve owned more than 20 cell phone holders. Most of them have ended up in the trash within the first month or two. Broken ball joints. Broken “fingers” that grab the phone. Inadequate suction cups. Pivot joints that stripped. Cradles that bounced so much I couldn’t read the clock on my phone without getting dizzy. I’ve probably seen every bad design.
The only cell phone cradle in memory that lasted close to a year was marketed under the name of Pyple. It was solid enough, but the fingers that gripped the phone where HUGE and didn’t work so well once I started using newer Samsung Galaxy phones. When the ball joint of my last Pyple gave out in November of 2015 I replaced it with this Arkon . Six months later I sold my car but gave the Arkon to my wife. She loves it and uses it every day. It shows no sign of wear or tear yet.
So when I bought a new vehicle I chose to buy another Arkon. In short, I find both the design and build to be extremely high quality.
The lever to engage the suction cup is the strongest that I’ve ever seen. When attached to my windshield or the included base it simply will not come off unless the lever is disengaged.
The joint where the arm attaches to the base has splines so that when you tighten the nut the arm isn’t going anywhere.
The knob that tightens the arm to the base is solid and allows you to get a good grip on it. The knob has a metal insert (nut) that is threaded onto a metal screw that passes all the way through to the other side of the joint.
On the other end of the arm is the ball joint. It’s quite large (1″ – 25mm) and has a matte texture to it. When the collar is tightened around the ball it doesn’t slip even over the hardest of bumps.
The cradle itself is fantastic. The “fingers” that grab your phone are made of a rubberized material that both conforms to the sides of your phone as well as grip it securely. The spring tension is quite stiff. This means that you may need to use both hands to insert your phone into the cradle. A good design, I think, ‘cause it means you need to insert the phone before you start driving. One less distraction (-:
The fingers that grab your phone are only 3/4″ (20 mm) tall. Because the buttons on the sides my Galaxy S6 Active are in weird places, the rather short fingers do an excellent job of grabbing the phone without depressing the buttons.
Although I don’t use a case with my phone, the fingers are also 3/4″ (20mm) deep and should accommodate even the thickest Otter Box case or the like.
The fingers spread to about 3 1/2″ (88mm) wide. Plenty of room for my Galaxy but you might want double check the width of your phone before ordering.

For the price, this is a great value. The suction cup base is not as sturdy as I would like and it allows the mount to rotate. The cup is strong and sticks to my dashboard but the arm can move. Its not floppy loose, but its not locked solid either. Because of this, I need to use two hands when I put my phone in the mount. (Galaxy S6).
Overall, its worth the money and I’m using it every day on my commute without complaints. Even the two-handed bit for mounting the phone is now second nature (just don’t try that while driving!)

I was worried about whether this would grip my Note 4 in UAG case. It grips it just fine! It could fit a slightly bigger (are there any bigger?) or smaller phone just fine. I didn’t realise the suction cup itself was sticky, I stuck it to my mum’s house window to test it out and struggled to get it off, I thought maybe it was stuck there for good for a moment. But once you’ve used the mount a few times it’s quite easy to take on and off a windscreen. It’s never fallen off the windscreen with my phone in it. It has fallen off the windscreen when left overnight though, which surprised me, but then I didn’t clean my windscreen before applying it, and since I did that, I’ve not had a problem. If this mount will fall off the windscreen, then frankly I think they all will, because this is very solidly made and well designed. I’d recommend it and am probably going to buy another very soon, one for my personal car, another to put on work vans.

Ottimo prodotto .
