I used these to replace all my bay doors on my RV. Perfect fit and the 55LB was a little overkill but worked perfect and hope they last a long time. Easy installation by snapping in place.

After 20 years, the front hatch strut on my boat stopped working. The OEM part was expensive, so I looked for a replacement that would work. This ARANA gas strut had the same open and closed dimensions, and the same load capability as the OEM gas strut. It assembled without any modification, and worked like the original. I can’t vouch for how it would work in salt water/air environments, but as a lake boat replacement part, it works well.

OK, I thought these would take some time to install. I was done installing both in about 2 minutes. Here’s a tip; Slide the retaining clips towards the rounded end. You don’t have to remove them. Put one end on ball, and the clip will slide into place. Repeat 3 times, and you’re done. I discovered this when removing the old ones. I have been using a board to hold the door open on my Leer camper shell for years because I thought I’d never find replacements, (1994 Toyota pickup, shell the same age), and it would be difficult. I was very wrong. These work great, and I spent 10 minutes opening and closing the door. They are great. These were slightly longer than my previous ones, but they were fine. So don’t let that scare you. These are rated 28 pounds, and they lift the door open with ease. Very easy and very happy.
