After p0404 code first tried cleaning the old egr but got code again. This egr fit 2010 town and country touring 3.8L and code cleared. Came with all bolts and gaskets. Quick delivery.

Exact fit for my 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. Got a code P1404. Tried clearing but code returned. Replaced with this EGR valve assembly. LOVE the fact that it comes with BOTH METAL gaskets and new bolts! Additionally, the gaskets are both tabbed so that assembly is VERY easy. Sensor cable harness plugged in solid. Cleared the P0401 code and it has not returned in the past 3 months.
Following installation, I got a code P0406, which I expected as the EGR valve was (apparently) failing over some time and the computer needed to readjust to the now properly operation EGR valve. Haven’t seen any codes since.
############# U-P-D-A-T-E Lowered rating ########## FAILED
January 2017, got 2 EGR codes (P1404, P0404), checked power, signal, ground
lines, all OK. Removed the ORIGINAL, OEM EGR valve (from 2009) found it stuck, all lines/ports to/from
valve clear. Ordered this valve (APDTY 022353 EGR Exhaust Gas
Recirculation Valve) and installed it February 15, 2017. All codes
gone, engine running smoothly. HOWEVER, after one day, got
P0406 code. Checked EGR valve, all electrical connections good,
all bolts tight, no signes of leaks. Cleared code, OK.
—NOTE: I am not alone with these EXACT same symptoms!! Check other EGR reviewers—-
No problens for 4 months (about 3000 miles) THEN,
while driving home (about 45 MPH), NO WARNING, A-L-L
instrument panel gages went full OFF position then FULL gage ON
position, A-L-L panel lights lit up, transmission went into ‘LIMP
MODE’, chimes/alarms sounded, engine sputtered, slowed down,
then, within 30 seconds, all went back to normal, van running
OK, transmission back to normal driving !!!!!
Put my code reader on the van, Got P0760 transmission (valve)
AND P0406 – EGR valve. Restarted the van, code P0760 went away
but P0406 remained. For the next 2 weeks, EVERY time the van
ran at low RPM (below 2200 RMP) the engine ‘Chugged’, no
backfire or stalling, just ran VERY rough! I checked all electrical,
OK, removed the valve and THROUGHLY cleaned ports, and the
tube to the intake, reinstalled, STILL ran VERY rough at low RPM. Repeatedly got code P0406, then code would clear itself then, after 30 minutes or so, the code would chime and come back on (P0406 – EGR “Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor ‘A’ Circuit High”). The engine STILL ran very rough at low RPMS.
–Again, others have had this problem and I read that disconnecting the electrical connection to the EGR valve helped, temporarily until they could get ther car worked on, but no one would say why this worked. I guessed that, IF Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor ‘A’ Circuit High, was correct, the valve would be held TOO FAR OPEN, flooding the intake with spent gasses, reducing Oxygen so far that the engine couldn’t maintain the proper fuel/air ratio at low RPM (where fuel/air ratios are particularly sensitive), causing ‘Chugging’, starving the engine.
To test, I simply DISCONNECTED the electrical connector to the EGR valve. (got several codes, but ignored them for this test). Drove the car, high and low RPM, hard accelerating and slow, low RPM driving —-A-L-L OK!!!!! Engine smooth at all RPM, NO problems. Reconnected electrical connection to EGR Valve, ALL ‘Chugging’/Rough engine RETURNED! Disconnected again, INSTANTLY running smooth. DEFECTIVE EGR VALVE!!!!
I did not realize when I first installed THIS (APDTY 022353 EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve) unit that the OBDii code P0406 showed that the unit was defective immediately upon installation and through the 4 months that followed, it would only get WORSE!
I am not alone with these problems. Apparently, the position controls for the stepper motor within the valve is a real problem, difficult to set at the factory and with cheaper parts, vulnerable to vibration, heat and wear, causing early failures.
I ordered ANOTHER brand and returned this unit on June 25, 2017.

Worked perfect on my 2010 Chrysler town and country. Auto parts store wanted 100$ for this part. And I was so happy I found this!

Well, so far so good…. Installation for this part on my 2011 Jku was not easy but we will see if the cost of the part offsets the pain if that installation. Couple of things to note here that were left out in the instructions: main bolts the hold the unit are 10mm. The metel hose are using four 8mm bolts. Since this part is related to “air intake” clean your system. You will have it half apart anyway so clean it all to insure that the EGR will work. Clean/replace your air filter, clean your throttle body. Also, if you still have the original exhaust, it may be a good time to replace that as well. Having a hole in the exhaust can send a false bad EGR code. Also, the plug that connects to the EGR has a lock on it. You should disengage the lock before removing the EGR. Also, plug the plug in immediately after installing the two 10mm bolts on the EGR. It will be much easier. Hope this helps

This part only lasted 3 months before it failed. I contacted the seller to ask how to file a warranty claim and got no response. I would recommend a Genuine Chrysler part for anyone having problems with their EGR valve.

I bought this item after my 2011 Jk sport was throwing a EGR code.. I fixed it and everything is fine!! Good item and price!! DONT INSTALL IT UR SELF UNLESS U KNOW WHAT UR DOING !! It’s very hard to install and it’s a very small place to get a wench in!!
