Good quality cable 👍

Tailgate wouldn’t close right, takes a lot of adjusting. Also the cable is too long so now my gate droops. Yes, I installed it correctly. Its two bolts.

Part wise it is the right part, picuture is a bit misleading, yes it does say rh in description but the picture shows right and left = part wise it is very good, it does not include both sides. which is correct the picture or the description

Fits on my 2002 ford ranger perfectly! Just like the previous cable.
Jonathan L. Giffen –
the cable was longer than the other side, but not enough to worry that much about.

The reason I gave it a three on installation was because I had to take apart an old rusty tailgate with some stripped out old screws to attach one end of the strap. No problem with the strap. I was just my old truck. The strap was about a 1/8th of an inch shorter than the original so all the weight is now on just the new strap. No problem because I’m not putting three tons on the tailgate to begin with…..

I am happy with this product. It arrived on time and it was easy to install. I wondered why there was a difference between the left and the right cables, but there is a little nub that sticks out on opposite sides of the ring that fits around the stud on the tailgate. This nub keeps the cable from getting tangled so it is mirror imaged on the other side. I needed a torx wrench to remove the stud on the tailgate. The end that connects to the back of the truck bed snaps into place without tools. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that I waited so lonog to replace the broken OEM cable. Probably over ten years… 🙂
