I wish I had explored repairing the flaking inside lining of shoes years ago–I really assumed it must be a really intensive process and probably too expensive to justify having a cobbler repair it. I do tiny touch ups on shoes and had a vintage pair of pumps that were perfect, except after I wore them once, the inside lining gave up the ghost and started to flake. I decided to look into repairs because it was either trash the shoes or make an attempt to repair. After several videos made it look straightforward, I ordered this–its inexpensive, so why not try? I carefully sanded the flaking areas and coated with this “liquid leather”–it was thinner in consistency and easier to work with than I expected! I’m thrilled and I will be taking on more repairs from here on out–ingavent experimented with painting over it but it says you can use acrylic so I may try to color match my shoes original interior. Don’t toss your shoes! Keep this around and save them!

This will work well for hard or firm surfaces like a shoe, purse, or car dash But too runny for something like a soft seat

Works well. Also purchased the black paint, best products yet for leather repair, 2013 Passat leather missing on driver bolster. 3 in x 2 in.

Seems to work great as I am trying to revive na antique bible covered in leather. The corners were cracking so I glued some leather strips behind the corners to reenforce the corners that flex and filled the cracks with this product , built up a few layers and it seems really strong,. I haven’t stained it yet but it seems like after a light sanding with 400 grit it should take the dye fine, tbd

Our fire managed to spark and burn a small hole in our leather sofa. Had some quotes for someone to fix for us and they were very high, enough to almost buy a new sofa! So I thought I would have ago myself. The filler was easy to use, it needed several layers of sanding and filling but was easy to do. I painted the filler with an acrylic paint, not quite the right colour but that is my bad. Please with result and certainly looks much better than a burn hole

There is no effect on repairing the scratches on my genuine leather sofa. The scratches look the same after applying two coats of this product as instructed. It only has a transparent paste looking layer on top.

I have a cream colored loveseat that was in rough shape from wear & cat scratches. Cleaned the sofa with a cleaner called Super Clean (saw it on a YouTube video). It cuts grease and oils really well with almost no odor. After it dried I used the filler and did about 3 coats. Allowed the filler to dry a few hours between coats. It did a great job of filling in minor scratches in one coat, but needed a few coats for the black areas. Waited 24 hours after last coat, sanded it briefly with 220 grit sandpaper, & then applied leather paint. Came out great and my sofa looks brand new. Note – I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it starts to thicken pretty fast if you don’t keep the top closed as you work. And I had to buy a 2nd container of filler to have enough to complete my loveseat. But granted my loveseat was was in bad shape. But 2 oz is still a pretty small container. I would definitely recommend this product! I noticed some reviews said it was too thin. But you want it thin. If it’s too thick then it shows up under the Leather paint and you spend all your time sanding. Better to use several thin coats than one thick one.

I recently used the Angelus Leather Filler to repair some cracks and scuffs on a pair of leather shoes, and I was impressed with its effectiveness. Here’s my detailed review:
Ease of Use — This filler is very easy to apply—it has a smooth, creamy consistency that spreads well over damaged areas. I used a small spatula and my fingers to fill in cracks, and it dried evenly without excessive shrinkage. Sanding after drying helps achieve a seamless look, especially for deeper repairs.
Flexibility & Durability — Once fully cured, the filler remains flexible, which is crucial for leather items that bend and move, like shoes or car seats. Some fillers tend to harden too much and crack over time, but Angelus holds up well with daily wear.
Color & Paintability — The filler dries to a neutral off-white color, making it ideal for customization. It absorbs leather paint well, and after applying Angelus Leather Paint over it, the repair blended seamlessly.
Best Uses — This product is great for repairing cracks, scratches, and small holes on leather shoes, car seats, furniture, and jackets. However, for larger holes or deep gouges, multiple layers or additional reinforcement may be needed.
Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
• Easy to apply and dries evenly
• Remains flexible after curing
• Paint adheres well for a seamless repair
• Made in the USA with high-quality materials
❌ Cons:
• Not suitable for large holes without reinforcement
• Requires sanding for best results
• Only comes in a small 2 fl oz size
Final Verdict — The Angelus Leather Filler is a high-quality, flexible repair solution for leather items. It’s easy to work with, durable, and blends well when painted, making it perfect for minor cracks and surface damage. If you need a long-lasting fix for worn-out leather, this is a great product to have.
