Our 2016 Grand Caravan is currently being used by our daughter who is hauling her kids plus carpooling and all the kids have electric devices soaking up power. When her battery life was shortened and the car hesitated at starts, I wondered about the alternator, and the old one was putting out 13.8 volts on my meter, which should be just enough, but I think the amps were just not high enough to keep up with use.
So I put this one in – easy install in under a half-hour due to easily accessed location in this year Grand Caravan with the 3.6L engine. Plugs all fit the vehicle leads and are secure. This alternator is physically heavier and slightly bigger than the OEM alternator, and I’m pretty sure it has more output – partly because I’m seeing mid-14s in the voltage output, and now the battery recharges correclty, even with all the kids running their devices inside the van.
