My 2nd time using Akebono pads and no regrets. Keeps the wheel clean and no issues whatsoever, oem like feel and performance. Price difference between this and oem is minimal, but I prefer this as Amazon makes it easy to purchase.

These pads are similar to original toyota. Excellent performance and they bed right in without any special ‘bedding’ well worth a little more than the cheap ones.

I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna limited AWD, and I bought these because scotty Kilmer always says good things about akebono’s. I just put them on (I did the front brakes, along with the new rotors and calipers) and the fit perfectly and are SUPER quiet. At least so far. I did some research on good calipers and rotors for the van because they are heavy vehicles so I wanted to make sure I got good quality parts for it that doesn’t make noise and work well, and I bought Bosch rotors (not drilled and slotted) with oriely’s Brakesbest calipers. again, so far everything feels great and works great. Correct installation on brakes and brake parts are essential too, like make sure you put brake grease on the back of the brake pads and rim of the caliper pistons, along with where the brake pads clip into the caliper bracket. I imagine even good brakes will make noise if you don’t put them on correctly.
Always, love them so far, would recommend. Perhaps I will add to this review in a few months after some use.

2018 Lexus RX350. Replaced pads at all four wheels and front rotors at 87,000 miles. Factory pads still had a few mm left on them, but front rotors were warped and starting to groove. Took 4 hours in my garage, giving myself ample time to clean the calipers and shims, back out the electric parking brake, and regrease pins and shims. Saved $1000 in labor costs, well worth my time.
The Akebono pads fit perfectly. I reused the factory shims after cleaning them up, and they mounted perfectly to the pads. Also reused the factory squeelers, which mounted perfectly as well. The Akebono kit does include new squeelers and clips, but no brake grease. The Akebono clips fit perfectly in my calipers after removing the factory clips and wire brushing a small amount of corrosion in the caliper slots. They snapped right in without issue, and the pads slide within the clips with no binding.
The electric parking brake on my RX350 was easily retracted using a 9v battery and aligator clips. I only needed one full battery to retract one piston on a dissassembled caliper, but two full batteries and a AA battery pack to retract the piston on an assembled caliper. The 4 pack of AA batteries from an electric home safe worked better than the 9v battery trick.
The Akebono pads are smooth, quiet, and emit minimal dust. Very smooth under light braking, and powerful when necessary. Quiet as factory pads. Also silent when reversing the car, which is a good indicator of a quality pad.

This was for my 2010 Lexus RX 350. I prefer these over Toyota/Lexus OEM. They produce way less brake dust in my experience than OEM, have great braking power and less noise than OEM. Smooth braking, quick brake response and these pads last longer than OEM in my experience. I am confident with these brakes on my vehicle. I highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for good quality after market parts or even this over OEM.

My car is a 2010 Lexus RX 350 (most people don’t identify the make and model of their cars in these reviews, which makes it 30% less helpful for other shoppers).
These front pads fit nicely (so do the rear pads). I bought them in October 2021 and installed them in May 2022. They had been at work for about nine months now and I have put almost 8,000 miles on them. There was no problem so far. They make no noise and do a good job of stopping my car’s front wheels. I believe they will last about 40,000 miles. I’ve provided a photo of a comparison between the Akebono vs. the old pads, they look good and work well.
The only complaint I have about them is the clips that come with the package were very difficult to install into the caliper. These clips are supposed to hold the pads in place so they don’t slip while braking. However, the clips were a little bit too big and not a perfect fit like the OEM ones. I gave up after a while and just used the old OEM clips from the old brake pads. That worked so I was happy. I would buy their pads again from Akebono.

Used these on front of a 2011 Toyota Sienna. They last, shed less dust and are quiet. I’ll buy again when needed

These pads provide a luxurious braking action with no noise or vibrations whatsoever and are comparable to the OEM pads that come with some Lexus vehicles from the factory in quietness and stopping power. However, the hardware that come in the box is not the equal of the Toyota OEM hardware. The shim kit is painted steel whereas the Toyota ones are stainless steel on the outside with a second layer of painted steel on the inside. The OEM abutment springs have a chromium oxide layer over stainless steel, giving them a bronze color whereas these are bare stainless steel. The thickness of the steel is the same in either case. I recommend using a brass brush to polish the OEM hardware and use these pads with them. Note that the OEM Toyota pads without new hardware are about $80 per axle, so these aren’t that much of a bargain when not using the included hardware.
