Good quality here, Aisin is the real deal. This is not some off-brand garbage. Heads up, I needed this for a 97 Impreza 2.2, and there are two different factory options for tensioner: the separate pulley and hydraulic body included with this kit, or a one-piece pulley and hydraulic tensioner unit. It may be hard to tell which setup your particular car has, and you don’t want to find out after it’s all apart. I recommend having both tensioner replacements on-hand before you begin the job.

Great kit with all name brand parts from Japan not junk in this kit. Only issue is in 98 you could have either a early tensioner or a late so be sure to know which one you need.

Kit for 1991 Subaru ej22 – deeper pocket on bearings resulted in original bolts being too long, no replacement bolts provided.

I contacted seller to make sure the kit fit my vehicle. Turns out the tensioner is not the correct one for my vehicle. I know have to spend > $100 more for the correct tensioner. Which is why I have two stars.
The parts look of good quality otherwise.
Update: everything works awesomely 15k miles later. Looking forward to another 75k before I have to change it again
