It’s an aftermarket cabin filter. Much cheaper than OEM or even the likes of Fram or Purolator and will likely last just as long. Installation can be a PITA if you own a vehicle where the filter is located in the front of the center console area as opposed to behind the glove box.

Fits kia k5 well. It’s well made and awesome for the price! Definitely would teach yourself how to do simple things like change cabin filters! Will save a bunch of money this way in the long run instead of having someone else do it at a shop.

Please keep this mind. This replacement cabin air filter is a five star replacement for the Ford factory cabin filter in my 2017 Escape SUV. However, the degree of difficulty in getting it installed is beyond your average do-it-yourselfer capability. It’s incredibly awkward gaining access to the air filter housing unit located under the dashboard. I needed a mechanic’s help to finally get it installed but the air filter worked great once it was finally installed.

This is the third year I have used this cabin air filter for my 2017 ford escape. This year the airflow indicator was pointing the opposite direction from the previous ‘identical’ filter. I thought maybe they changed something even though the yellow portion and white portion were identical. So either filter was a manufacturer error/misprint or last years was along with all the online photos. I reached out to the vendor and they did confirm that it is a manufacturing error and to swap the filter it was just a misprint of the arrow essentially. So just beware. Other than that i really do like these filters, they seem reasonably priced. This wouldn’t be a review of the cabin air filter on the 2017 ford escape with some bashing on the designers of the location of the filter.. yes it is very difficult to squeeze it in, and this time i had to do it twice due to this error… but again the filter seems good. so beware to make sure the yellow portion is the first air in.

This cost half the price that ford charged me for an OEM filter. I noticed an odor when the ac was on so i bought this. Instantly got rid of the smell and my air has smelled clean since. I may just start getting these instead.

As for the filter itself, great, noticed nice clean air right away, air flow was much better than the old filter. Old filter was about 8 months old, I live off dirt road so cabin air filter should be changed about every 6-8 months. I typically circulate air inside rather than getting air from outside (avoid sucking in more dust, causing the filter to clog sooner), when I’m sweaty, with other cheap generic air filters I could smell my feet throughout the car till I cooled down, this filter does not have that issue, removes the odors from air, going to spend the $5 more from now on and get this filter, truly noticeable difference compared to the cheapys.
It was a pain to install on my 2013 ford focus ST, not the fault of this filter at all, WHAT the F was ford thinking, TERRIBLE engineering design by Ford, a job that takes < 5mins on ANY other vehicle and even other Ford models takes min 20 mins… Doing this myself I understand why any shop including Valvoline Instant oil change chains charge $80-$120 to change this car's cabin air filter.
