It’s a very nice well made filter, it’s got some heft to it when you first pull it out of the box. It is the only non oiled filter on the market for the EA888.3/4 so I get the price point but STILL I wish it was $13ish cheaper. Very good overall though.

Seems like a quality piece but I felt some throttle input lag on a tuned MK7 GTI so I removed it which is odd as everyone else seems to report it improved throttle feel.
Update, I reinstalled it and drove 3k on her and then removed it and compared to the stock paper filter, make no mistake throttle response is reduced with this filter on my tuned GTI.

Currently using this with stage1 apr, stock airbox, spulen turbo inlet pipe kit and turbo muffler delete. Perfect fit, slighly louder than stock. Gas mileage has been great and so has throttle response. It captures a lot of fine dust which is good. When i pulled it to clean(after about a year), it looked like barely any dirt was in it. But after washing it with k&n filter cleaner(no oil after)the rinse water was a light brown and required 2 washes before rinsing clear.

1-noticeable performance: i drive a golf R 16 manual and im very happy with results this filter provides. , along with the snow grill removal ( under oem filter) its definitelly a cold air intake for just 60 bucks. i can feel throtle 25 % more responssive , so taking off , its much easier. and you can feel more intake high flow , so driving on high rpm its much easier too.
2- hp gains: i can feel more performance, definitelly noticiable, i think i have gain about 4-6 hp with just this modification.
3-install: extremely easy, took 5 min to do the job.
4-why this filter + snow grille delete over a full cold air intake? i did my own research , and there wont be any hp gains with full cold air intake unless you get an ECU tune. so this a very good chooise over a full cold air intake, also because is not worth to waste $400 on an intake, when you wont see results.
5- turbo noise: slightly increased sound
6-is it worth? im extremely happy with the results and performance , this filter its a must.
7- inmediately results? after about 10 miles is when you really feel the diference, but even more after 2 or 3
days when ECU has relearn its new air flow ratio . even more when you turn ignition off and the on again
8- the most thing that i like about this filter along with the anow grille delete is the throtle response, and easier to take off. i deive a manual golf R 16.

Such an easy way to get more responsiveness out of the turbo. I’ve got a 2016 VW Golf R and my one complaint from stock is that the engine itself wasn’t as responsive as I would have liked. I don’t want to do a ECU tune or and downpipe stuff quite yet, so I started with this to get the ball rolling. I also removed the stupid snow filter plastic piece at the bottom of the air box and right off the bat the engine responded better. The Turbo spools up much quicker now and you an even hear the engine breathe a little better. The Filter is extremely well made and fits like a glove. Well worth the price and a quick easy way to get more out of the car.

I drive a 2018 Audi A3, which is the same platform as a VW GTI. Some have said that they have gotten a better throttle response with the filter. I really feel no difference and I think it’s most likely just a placebo effect. The one thing that I’m sure of is that my gas mileage has went from 24 to 26mpg on my digital dashboard. Floating around 1.5-2mpg more then my stock filter. The bonus is that it gives more of a whoosh sound and I can hear my turbo spool a little more than before. It is definitely worth the purchase if you’re looking to save a bit more on fuel and having a reusable air filter.

I recently had a tune in my 8V S3. I am sure the additional CFM and less restrictive filter will produce plenty of benefits. I already notice a quicker throttle response and I could hear the intake really well. I only had to eliminate the plastic screen on the bottom of the air box, which I think is a restriction especially when the tune adds more boost pressure. The plastic fins are very fragile so be gentle when you take it off. You will need a T25 torx in able to replace the filter. I think it’s a great product. My friend who’s an aerospace engineer believes on this product. He gathers an oil sample every oil changes and has a lab test and see how much dirt the oil have. I think that’s plenty enough benefits!
