UPDATE the switch lasted less than 2 months. I contacted the seller and to sum up was told there is no warranty through them. I contacted Amazon and they made a exception due to the seller not standing behind there product after such a short time. Ordered a AC Delco switch from Amazon and do not anticipate any issues with it. I would pass on this seller due to them having no warranty on there products.
My 04 Colorado started having issues with the Pass Lock system like so many have experienced. I bought this to originally just replace the switch. On my truck the switch is retained to the shaft internally and would not just slide off as the the manual stated, I used the whole assembly and used my lock cylinder. The most difficult part was releasing the airbag spring retainers. (make sure the battery is disconnected btw) After this was accomplished it is very straightforward. To release your lock cylinder turn it to ACC and push in the pin it will slide right out. Note the position of the internals of the new assembly match the old so it will go back in easily. I suggest lubricating the moving parts by using the old one as a guide. for lubricant placement. I used white lithium grease on mine. This does not come with the steering wheel lock assembly, rather than take my old well worn one out and reuse it I omitted it. I have seen a couple comments about no threads on the two holes to mount the steel plate to for the two torx head screws. The holes have a slight taper and the metal is soft enough that the two torx screws will self tap quite easily. You will need to reset the pass lock system and there are some good You Tube video’s that show the procedure and takes about thirty minutes. After that was complete the truck started right up and no issues since. One other tip, to remove the security bolt on the bracket I used a pair of needle nose Vice Grips that grabbed just enough to turn it out and I replaced it with a standard metric bolt of correct thread pitch and length. I hope this helps someone with this tedious repair.

Only usef the electronic passlock portion. Easy to do and fits okay. Followed youtube video instructions to re-program and got back to business. So far, so good.

The first one I ordered from this seller never showed up, so I had to cancel the order and re-order it. That time it actually showed up. I was only using the black ignition switch on the end of this cylinder. This is a common failure point on Colorado trucks, mine is a 2005 with over 200K miles on it. The replacement only lasted 3 1/2 months. Past the return window, and no warrantly. It’s Chinese junk, so I just ordered a genuine GM part to replace it (again). I’ve been working on cars a long time, but I took a chance on this part. Don’t make the mistake I did, spend the extra on the real GM part. Since the original part lasted 200K miles, I hope the GM replacement part lasts the life of the vehicle.
