The parts are AC Delco and came in original packaging. They have the exact same “ends” as the old parts I removed. The directions are relatively broad and cover a wide variety of “ends.” Once I figured out that a small flat blade screwdriver was the right tool to release the locking mechanism the job only took a few minutes to remove the old part and install the new part.
I’m only giving this part three stars because one of the two original parts I ordered was defective. After I installed the part the rear glass hatch was very difficult to close. One of the parts was binding. I struggled to slowly, but deliberately close the hatch. The binding issue would not allow the hatch to open more than about 25%. I could barely get my hand through the partially opened hatch.
Amazon was very good about sending a replacement part. Kudos to Amazon for such great customer service. This part is sold and shipped by Amazon so they can handle issues quickly – No third party involved.
The next day the replacement part arrived. I installed it and yes it does work. However, the rear hatch doesn’t operate as well as I think it should. The air cylinders seem to have sticky spots so the glass hatch does not open or close smoothly. I hope it gets better with time.
In some ways I wish I had purchased original OEM/GM replacement parts. They were only a few dollars more. If the AC Delco parts (pseudo GM) continue to be sticky I will replace them with original factory parts.

Purchased these to replace the original failed ones on out 2002 Suburban. These installed in minutes and work great, almost too great as the glass just about opens itself once released. I installed these a few months back now and no complaints.

Though the Packaging said ACDelco the items were not but tried them anyway. The resistance for closing the window is much stronger than the original. Not crazy that they were no name from China in ACDelco package. Felt like a bait and switch. But they appeared solid. Will give them a try till they fail. Next time, I will look for a true ACDelco Model.

Works fine. Would use again but if you can get the factory original lift supports for the same price, I would go that way next time. These work fine but the timing is slightly different. Instead of automatically opening you need to give it a little nudge to get it started, then stand back as these open with quite a bit of force. The original ones would open with the push of the release button and the glass would rise slowly to the full open position. Since the rear window doesn’t get used much I’m not going to change things but would probably do it differently if I was to do it over again.

I replaced the shocks on this window three times now, the first two time with after-market parts. I have discovered that the aftermarket products are often not exact replacement parts and do not operate as well as the original. The second set of aftermarket lift supports were way too strong and I to remove one just so I could get the window to close. I think this may have been a error as they seem to be similar to the lifting strength of the lift gate lift supports. And based on how long the original GM supports lasted versus the aftermarket supports, the GM OEM supports costs are a good value.

Purchased two ACDelco 510-1012 Professional Back Glass Lift Supports for my 2002 Tahoe LT. The ones on the truck were Stabilus and clearly worn completely out. Would not hold the glass up at all. I searched on the web and found a video that showed exactly how to remove and install these struts so I had no surprises. These new ones were easy to install and now the back glass opens easily and operates like new. These are not the cheapest on the market, but you get what you pay for.

Original quality, fit perfectly and work great.

These are what you need for your rear hatch window on the 2002-2006 Yukon/Tahoe (may work on other vehicles.) I already made the mistake of buying the cheaper aftermarket struts which were too stiff and caused the hinges to separate from the glass itself. I had to find a replacement window because of the mistake. These struts are designed with less pressure in the struts (you don’t want too much pressure because it’s constantly pushing out on the hinges that are glued to the glass, even when the window is closed.) They’re the best quality, easy to install and last for years!
