Wanted to wait to add review to make sure all worked well. Unit has been installed for months and still works great. I am always suspect of rebates but the core process went just as promised. Would buy this again. Make sure to check your torque wrench settings. I sheared off two bolts. Thank goodness for local auto parts store on a Sunday.

I recommend that you check a couple of you tube videos on purging the air after installing – I did and had no problems.
Recommend an impact wrench to loosen the pulley bolt on the old one – much easier than a wrench and no chance to damage the pulley.
The one I got came with O-rings for both the inlet and outlet.

Flow / pressure from this pump was very low and did not work on 08 Oddysey. Put the old pump back on (it was still working better then this rebuilt pump) and returned the replacement. Pump received had no noise or issues running, flow was just in effective. Perhaps I just got a bad one, or they failed to rebuild the impler.

I installed this pump on my 2008 Honda Pilot. I bought the car at 199,000 miles, and it had absolutely no power assist at idle, so parking lots were a nightmare to maneuver. I bought a rebuild kit at NAPA, but it only replaced the seals and o-rings, so it did nothing to help the pump. I would say the majority of the problems with these pumps are the vanes inside wearing out. I did my research, and realized that the pumps at the local parts stores didn’t work much better than the pump I had, so I kept looking. I ran across this ACDelco pump and it had pretty good reviews, so I gave it a try. It installed easy, but I didn’t notice much difference at first. I had vacuum-drained the reservoir, and added new Prestone Asian power steering fluid when I installed it. I was going to flush the system, but I didn’t have the right hoses to do it without making a mess, so I figured I’d change the fluid once a week for a few weeks. I vacuum-drained the reservoir 3 more times and added new fluid, and now it steers like it should have when it was new. Newer Hondas steer heavier than the Hondas of the 90s, but this made it much more manageable. I have power assist at idle, and it steers a lot lighter than it did when I bought the Pilot. This is about the only way to fix your heavy steering.
I sent my core back, and it’s been 3 weeks since they received it. I haven’t seen my rebate check yet, but I’m keeping an eye on it. Of course, the price has dropped $20 in a month’s time since I bought it, but, at least my Pilot is driveable.

The situation; my wife’s 2006 Honda Pilot with 190,000 miles started squeeling like mad when turning; the classic symptoms of a power steering pump failure. I trolled the internet to see which pumps were the best based on reviews, and was led to the ACDelco pump. My research would indicate to stay away from pumps sold by Cardone, AutoZone and AdvanceAuto.
Easy installation, of the new pump. I followed a couple of steps that I learned from the online Honda Pilot forums, and by subscribing to Alldatadiy.com.
Prior to removing the old pimp, I drained the system the way is says to in the Honda manual, and am I glad I did. The amount of garbage that came out with the old fluid was impressive.
After draining the system, it was easy to remove the belt, the two bolts holding the high pressure hose on, the hose clamp holding the low pressure line on, and lastly removing the two mounting bolts (which happen to be 12mm). Removing the pulley nut required a strap wrench to hold the pulley, and a quick hit with the impact wrench (19mm). The pulley came off easily by shimmying it off the shaft (it did not need a pulley pulley).
I bench primed the pump by putting fluid into the low pressure side, and spinning the pulley to force it out the high side. This ensures that the pump will not start dry. I capped it back off and installed it on the engine. You will need to replace the o-rings on each of low pressure side and high pressure output. I filled the reservoir with OEM Honda power steering fluid, and then followed the OEM directions to bleed the system (which involves starting the engine, and turning the steering wheel lock to lock several times to purge the air). Did this five times a side, and the whining noise started to abate (though not fully). Took the Pilot out for a drive, and then to a parking lot to do large figure 8s to continue to purge the system. After about 10 cycles, the unit stopped making any noise.
I am happy with the unit now, and how easy it was to replace. I drove it from Atlanta to Orlando this week with no issues. Time will tell how long it lasts. It appears that the ACDelco unit may be remanufactured bettter than the Cardone or AutoZone units, with a lower overall failure rate (based on comments from the Honda Pilot forums).

I successfully installed this power steering pump on my 2006 Honda Odyssey. Installation was a breeze. The product works as intended and I am please with the results. I docked a star only because you have to “recycle” some parts on your used pump. I don’t know if that is the standard but I had to rummage for the old one to take off components to make the “new” one work.

I installed this pump and was unable to bleed the air out of the system. The fluid instantly became foamy and oozed out of the reservoir. I took the car to a local mechanic and he didn’t have any luck either. I finally removed the pump and started to take it apart and I found the o ring on the intake housing was misaligned and badly leaking air. So I’m wondering how carefully the rest of the pump was put together. This shoddy work caused a great deal of lost time and money and if the EPA ever comes around they will condemn my driveway! With a new o ring the unit is working fine
