Hi all, I bought this sensor that the previous damage, and variations in temperature, causing it to shut off the AC and turn on the heating when the actual temperature was 30 º C???. I installed this new sensor quick and easy, no tools, just a couple of minutes. I tried it and it solved the problem of erroneous temperature, now everything works fine.
This sensor is manufactured in China and works well.
Recommend it because it works very well and the price is very good.
Regards, Ali from Venezuela.

My 2006 GMC Sierra rear view mirror was showing OC for the temperature and would show random temperatures that were clearly incorrect. I bought this which is the upgraded part so looks a little different than the original. It fixed my issue right away. It’s located right behind the grill more towards the drivers side but still in the middle.

It was perfect! same P/N as Original GM Sensor & half the price of an aftermarket NAPA Sensor.

Oem part. Easy to replace and reads precisely.
This is the one you want if you have a GM suv or truck.

My climate control was wonky because it was getting the wrong ambient air temperature input. I swapped this sensor out and my problem is solved.

This IS the correct sensor for sending ambient air temp info to electronic rear view mirrors with compass/temperature indicators on 2001 Suburban 1500 LT (and other Chevy/GMC models with this accessory), although I couldn’t find an exact match for the part number I found on the OE, and the clip configuration of this one was a little different. However, once I was satisfied that it correctly matched the OE electrical connector, I just trimmed a little material off the back of its mounting bracket so that the new sensor would seat securely/fully in the OE bracket. Very simple to do, no effect on the function, except the OE had an additional clip that prevented rotation of the sensor in the bracket. This sensor is located on the driver side, in front of the AC condenser/radiator combo, right next to the much smaller transmission cooler … very easy to find/access once you have the front grill off.
Don’t confuse this sensor (like I did at first), with another, very similar one that’s located over on the passenger side at the bottom left corner of the AC condenser. That one has a slightly different electrical connector that won’t fit in this part, and sends ambient air temp info to your electronic HVAC controls (for vehicles so equipped).
I stopped paying attention to the temp readout on my mirror years ago; I always assumed there was something wrong with the electronics in the mirror itself; figured that would be really expensive to replace, and just didn’t want to bother with it. However, once I figured out the problem might be due a failed sensor located somewhere other than the mirror itself, I identified/located the sensor, ordered/installed this part, and now it’s showing an accurate temp reading again. Duh … could have easily fixed it years ago, but it’s all good now.

Works great, replaced the old sensor with the new one. Helped change my thermostat that was stuck at -41 degrees to it’s original temperature after driving my car for 5 minutes. Would recommend, easy to install and cheaper than most auto part stores

Didn’t snap into place on my Cruze but I zip ties it and it works as it should so no problems for me other than fit. Value is good for me
