Straight forward install. Need a Pulley Puller if you plan to reuse your Pulley. Couple of Mounting Brackets on the back to swap over.

I replaced the Power Steering pump on my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD – and this power steering pump worked out perfectly.
I replaced all 3 lines along with the pump – and this line fit great!
My noisy/leaking power steering issues where fixed with the lines/pump!

After installing the pump, it worked well for a week and a half and was completely useless after 2 weeks. Went and picked up a used one from Kenny u pull and haven’t had a problem with it in 2 months.

Works so good it feels like my truck is broken lol. You’ll need the tool to push the pulley on. Make sure the pulley and shaft are flush when you’re done or you’ll eventually ruin the shaft. Great pump though and I should have bought it sooner.

I liked the fact that it functions perfectly. The Amazon filter said it would not fit my 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD but the part number is correct for the newer replacement. Always go with the part numbers, sometimes the Amazon filter does not have all updates in it.

Per Amazon I was purchasing the last power steering pump in inventory and I was shipped a kids toy, see picture. I knew when I picked up the box Saturday night from my porch the pump wasn’t in there, very light. The toy was packed in a ACDELCO BOX. Someone had fun that really sucked. I needed to fix my Duramax on Sunday so I could drive to work on Monday. Didn’t work out. Replacement option was back ordered into December. Don’t think I’ll buy the last of anything again and shop local.

Great alternative to rebuilt pumps which tend to be more expensive than this brand new unit from ACDelco. If your pulley has fallen off your pump (chevy/gmc) be sure to replace both the pump and pulley with new items. The press fit pulley onto the pump shaft is critical. 5 stars for fitment, price and quality!

Original pump has the protruding male insert for the hose line towards the pulley completely straight. The pump I received is exactly the same except that male piece is slanted towards the pump, which made it extremely difficult to put the hose on, not to mention its rubbing against the mount for the wires that clip into it. I can see this being very detrimental in the future.
Can anyone confirm if their replacement pump they purchased has their insert for the hose line (the one that goes around and out towards the pulley, seen on first picture) slanted as well? If not then I’d like a replacement. Works fine for now, and going to get me to class tomorrow, hopefully ( an hour away). But I can see that hose chaffing on the mount and going to cause a problem in the near future.
Pump is quite, and works great, I am just very nervous about the hose line rubbing. It’s also very close to the actual pulley. If others have the same slanted hose line insert and works good I will change review. Or if it continues to work good in the future without busting that hose I will change review to 5 stars.

My 2005 Duramax would intermittently lose power steering when the brakes were applied. Research showed the power steering pump was probably failing. I read several bad reviews of rebuilt pumps. More research showed that most pull the pulley with the pump in the truck, but others left the pulley on the pump and pulled it after removing the pump. I recently installed a new radiator and didn’t want to risk damaging it, so I decided to remove the pump and pulley as a unit, and remove the pulley with the pump (actually the front mount) clamped in a vise. It worked great.
When I reinstalled the pulley, my installation tool broke. The tolerance between the shaft and the pulley was so close it required more force than my tool from the nationally known Chinese tool store could survive. I figured that cooling the shaft and heating the pulley would increase the tolerance. So I put my entire pump in the freezer, and the pulley in the hot sun and went to the aforementioned tool store got a new puller/installer. The temperature difference was enough to allow the pulley to be installed with no further problems. I was glad that I did the removal and installation of the pulley on my bench rather than in the truck as I had to remove the broken part of the installer from the pump itself and that would’ve been quite difficult in the truck. Furthermore I wouldn’t have been able to easily cool the pump had it been installed.
Initially I was concerned that the pump had been made in China, but I have a great deal of confidence in the AC Delco name. After receiving the pump and examining it and using it, I am very pleased with my choice. My biggest regret is not replacing the pump when I did the radiator, it would have greatly simplified things.
