I was leery of this at first because it seemed too good a deal to be true. I had first bought a remanufactured motor from a retail chain and it was over $100 MORE than this – not even including core charge. Amazon charged no core charge and was still $100+ cheaper when you ignore that fact. I wondered if this didn’t come with something I’d need, but it actually comes with more: the remanufactured part was just the motor; this is a new motor, plus 3 screws and a nut. It is all ready to be installed. All I needed were a few tools: flathead screwdriver, 13mm socket wrench, 15mm socket wrench, crescent wrench (handy for tightening the nut on the motor) and a T30 torx driver.
I also wasn’t sure if the motor or the switch was the problem. It seemed that the wipers stopped working when it was really cold out (10 degrees or colder). The brushes inside the motor can deteriorate and the grease can get old, and it can all get gummed-up in there, especially in very cold temperatures. I could also hear a very slight clicking sound in the vicinity of the wiper motor when I turned the switch on and off, so that told me that the switch is probably fine. You can use a test light or multi-meter to test the switch, but that still requires that you take things apart to expose the wiring harness.
The only problems I had were nothing to do with this motor. Getting the wiring assembly disconnected from the old motor was tough – it was 14 degrees out and the plastic was brittle and I ended up breaking it. It still hooked up to the new motor snugly. The other problem was that once I installed everything, the wipers tried to wipe in the WRONG DIRECTION! This was not a problem with the motor though; the motor turns in only one direction and relies on the transmission linkage armature to cause the oscillating motion. This means that the position of the arms when you reconnect the wipers does matter – I had to remove the wiper motor/transmission assembly again, loosen the nut a bit, and rotate the little arm connecting the motor to the transmission arm by 180 degrees. Reassembled and everything works perfectly. Be mindful of where you situate your wipers when reinstalling because you might get a very slight downward movement before they go upward, and you want to make sure they’re not bumping into anything.
I installed this in a 2009 Buick Enclave but I know it works for a few GM models for a few model years, so look it up before you buy. There is a great video I found online detailing how to install this so search in the obvious places if you need help. Anyway, this motor worked perfectly for me. Fortunately the retail chain let me return the remanufactured motor I originally bought before I found this one.

The motor arrived with the three (3) holes not threaded…so it’s going to make it impossible for the included (or original) hex bolts to grab the motor and hold onto the motor mount and wiper assembly. Please provide a replacement with threaded holes for the hex bolts.

This AC Delco part was a lot cheaper than most other brands. I was skeptical, but after reading a couple of other reviews that mentioned it worked well I gave it a shot. This part is perfect! The hardest issue I had was getting the wiper arms off (2008 GMC Acadia SLT). Once that was done it was a breeze. There is a youtube video of how to do this. Look it up and you will have yours replaced in no time.
