I fixed my 91 Camaro with this part. They should not have crimped the connector onto the wires. I had to cut it off and then splice the wires underneath because it was way to bulky to fish down the steering column.

Works great! when installing make sure to tie a string around your old wire when pulling it up through the steering column than using that same string to guide the new wire down the column for an easy install. I will update if this ignition cylinder goes bad in a year.

Fixed security light issues on 1994 Camero. The wires on these units always seem to break up by the ignition cylinder due to the repeated turning of the cylinder. For this unit to work properly in your GM vehicle you will also need to make new key off included blank. This requires you to test the original key to see which resistor value is needed for the new keys. There are 15 possible values, a google search should show the various resistance, mine was #15 11,800 ohms. You can then order the blanks from Amazon or any other source. Local locksmiths will also usually have them on-hand and can also re-key them on the spot.
Installation requires removal of steering wheel on most GM models, once steering wheel is removed, you need to remove airbag clock-spring (if equipped), steering lockplate, and turn signal plate. The ignition cylinder is than held in with one torx head bolt, remove this, disconnect orange wires under dash, and pull unit out. I found it best to tie some string on the orange connector to pull through with column, so I could than pull the new connector back through column with this string.

Perfect fit for the 87 Corvette.

The cylinder works but the VATS portion does not any longer. I was repairing items in my steering column and ordered this to fix a VATS problem. It worked for a while and then quit. I’m not sure if it is the part or something else wrong with the VATS system.

works just like original make sure you know your GM vats # to get you new keys made and don’t pull the old wire without a wire or string to pull the new wire back thru the steering Colum there’s UTUBE videos on installing this my car is a 2001 firebird
