We’ve been using weed-wacker line to clean the sunroof drain on my Toyota Matrix for years. It was a huge pain, but would get the job done. These are like having the elite, extra fancy version (goodbye pinto, hello porche)! The bottle brush tip seems to get it a little cleaner, but mostly I love the ring on the end. It makes it so much easier to hold on to and work with. We started with the longest one, but will probably use the middle length next time.

I ordered this sunroof drain cleaning kit to clear the drains on my cars. We have older cars and drain tubes clogging is a thing. We’ve had sunroof modules and trunk modules burn out because of water intrusion. We used weed trimmer line in the past and it has worked okay. Weed trimmer line will get caught up in tight turns and doesn’t clean the entire inside of the drain. Compressed air works well enough but can cause drain tube joints to come apart and that would be a lot worse.
This drain cleaning kit works great. Everyone who has older cars with sunroofs should get this. The brush helps to clean the entire inside of the drain tube. The lengths should be plenty for any car. Be gentle with it and don’t force it around tight turns and it should last a very long time.
