This was 2nd one bought on line, both were failures, ended up cleaning original part and have no more issues. Think after market isn’t for me.
That one guy –
I recently installed a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) on my 2005 Kia Sedona V6, and my experience has been generally positive. The installation process was straightforward and didn’t require any specialized tools. Even for someone with limited mechanical experience, the task was manageable, taking about an hour from start to finish.
The sensor’s design is simple and functional, which is a definite plus. However, it’s worth noting that the screw ports on this aftermarket sensor are not exactly identical to the OEM part. This difference initially caused a bit of concern, but it turned out to be a minor issue. With a voltmeter on hand, I was able to adjust the sensor to the correct position without much trouble. Ensuring the proper voltage reading is crucial for the sensor to communicate accurately with the vehicle’s computer, and this adjustment process was easier than expected.
In terms of performance, the TPS has been working decently. It has effectively restored smooth acceleration and idle control to my Kia Sedona. I haven’t encountered any issues with stalling or erratic idling since the installation, which speaks to the sensor’s reliability. While it may not be an exact match to the original part, its functionality is on par with OEM standards once properly adjusted.
Overall, I am satisfied with this TPS for my 2005 Kia Sedona V6. It’s an easy install, with a simple design that does its job well. The slight discrepancy in the screw ports is manageable with the right tools, and the performance improvements make it a worthwhile purchase.
