Direct bolt up on 2012 Chevy Sonic 1.8. Much better quality than the original plastic one I removed. No leaks and working great.

I ordered this product and found out later that it wasn’t what I needed but I will say for the product it is a lot better than the OEM to come with car the one that came with it was plastic this is higher quality by far and I would recommend it to anyone needing to replace one

The OEM part is mostly plastic. Solid aluminum is a substantial upgrade. It’s also cheaper than the OE part. It was a bit scratched up when I got it. It was purely cosmetic damage though, probably the result of shipping.

I replaced my thermostat housing with this mid February and it’s already leaking. Save the money and avoid this one. If I could refund I would, but I guess it lasting two months is all fine and dandy….

I think this is a wonderful replacement for the thermostat housing in my 2017 Chevy sonic rs. I’m glad it was a quick and easy fix. I definitely recommend getting the hose clap remover on a cord, it saved so much time! This part is a great replacement for the original plastic housing.

way better then the factory plastic housing, purchased this for a 2015 chevy sonic 1.8 littler and fit exactly as needed highly recommend the purchase great price too over going to parts store. wouldn’t hesitate to use this product as your replacement go for it! and i’m pretty confident in saying should work for any 1.8 litter from 2012-2018 models as they all share the same drivetrain and parts and design ðŸ‘

This thermostat and housing assembly is 100 times better than the OEM one. It’s built solid, machined perfectly and it foxed the Check Engine code issue. I do recommend getting the Throttle Body Inlet Heater Pipe Hose 25192905 Fit 2011-2018 Chevy Cruze Sonic 1.8L 1.6L as well, as it WILL break off inside the old thermostat housing. I recommend this product 100%!

Update: Original review was 5 stars. Started Leaking 4 months after install from the little rubber piece that is clipped to the bottom. No idea where to find a replacement for that or if there is a fix for it other than replacing the housing again.
I like that it works as intended and that it aluminum instead of a plastic body like the OEM on the 2016 Sonic. Just be sure to grab the engine oil cooler outlet pipe seal, part number 25194222.
