I have a 2001 Ford E150 ( Econoline 5.4 V* ) with a 35 gallon tank. Although the fuel pump was working, the fuel gauge was not working correctly. That is, the ‘sending unit’ on the fuel pump assembly was not functioning so I could never tell how much fuel was in the tank. I purchased this item, installed it and the fuel gauge appeared to be working fine as I depleted the fuel after some driving. At the time I installed this new fuel pump assembly, my fuel tank was half full. Once I filled the tank, the fuel gauge ‘pegged’ at full and remained there after driving some 225 miles, about one half the actual tank capacity. It was only then after driving 225 miles did the fuel gauge moved off the ‘pegged’ setting. The fuel gauge now shows 3/4+ tank of fuel but it should show 1/2 tank since I get an average 450 miles per tank fill. This piece of crap does not register the fuel capacity correctly!!!!!!!! Adding ‘insult to injury’, how many hours do you think it took me to replace this defective piece of crap! Given the time it will take to uninstall this defective product sold by Amazon, I am moved to refrain from purchasing products sold by Amazon, especially foreign manufactured products. This is the third credit I have received in the recent months for low quality or defective products sold on Amazon. This is unacceptable!

Pump works as far as starting and running engine… But WARNING!!!! Fuel level is not reading correctly you will get false readings usually higher than what you really have left in the tank resulting in an empty tank without you knowing… I did notice based on reviews it affects most the E series vans.
