Not sure this pump will hold up but as far as fitment goes you have to check what antenna your car has. This one only fits the roof mounted model. From what I’ve read it’s the 03-04 models that switched during a certain time. 05’s are all roof mounted.

dont work on a mazda 6 2.3 2004 the item its a little more bigger than the original.

Listing shows this should fit 2008 mazda6 2.3 Eng. Federal emission (OEM part # L3901335E).
The top connections/fittings look identical, unfortunately it does not work on this vehicle.
If you look at the 2 pics of the pumps side by side, the issue is with the placement of what appears to be a leak down check valve. The original pump has it in the front, this new pump has it to the left side right above one of the black hoses. When put in the tank & try to compress the spring, the black hose hits the leak down valve preventing it from going down any further. It need to compress another 1.5-2 inches for to seat & be able to install the lock ring.
