It’s hard to judge from the outside. It is working now same as the previous 3 replacements over the last 10 years. Unfortunately most of them only last 2-3 years. Ford should have used a more sturdy design

I just got done installing this. It looks like it might work for an Excursion, but there are some minor detail about this item that make it incompatible without work.
1. There is a notch on the mounting bracket that doesn’t fit in the channel when trying to slide this guy onto the mount. The reason for this is the channel is not open enough to accomodate. With a knife and some patience this can be resolved, but it is definitely not plug and play.
2. There is excessive plastic on the back (plug) side of the unit preventing it from sliding on all the way. Again, with some patience and a dremmel this is resolvable, but dang.
3. The plug is not located in the same position exactly, so it will sit slighly further toward the driver’s side once install. The wire clears, etc. but you should be aware that it may rub on the lift gate a little because of being shifted over.
Had I known about these fitment issues, I’d have spent more money and gone OEM. This should be a snap in item, but on the Excursion it definitely is not.

Ordered to replace factory door actuator on the rear driver side passenger door. Fitment was on par with factory actuator that needed to be replaced due to gears wearing out internally. 2010 Ford Expedition.

I have been though 3 dorman versions of these actuators. This one seems to be holding up. I also have been using their Rear Hatch and Rear Window shocks which have been working well.

This was for my 2002 F-150 door locks. This new ones are shaped a little different but that presented no problems and fit perfectly. There is a hard to reach tab that has to be compressed to in order to remove the old actuator. The new actuator was easy to install by me, a backyard mechanic. Door locks work like new. I have not had them long enough to evaluate long term dependablity.
