K.A.B. –
This cabin filter fit perfectly in my customers defender. It looks and feels like the original. The price is reasonable and as Long as you face the filter the correct way it slides in and is the same size as the one I changed out. On the filters edge it’s orientation is marked. It’s easy to install this quality product. Like most cabin filters you just have to open the glove box and where the little stops prevent it from opening all the way foreward and spilling the contents on the floor, you gotta grab the stops (there’s one on each side of the glove box up in the corners) Push on them slowly and carefully so they don’t stop the the glove box from opening all the way. Use some care when doing this. The stops are plastic so don’t go passed whatever force it takes to bend them slightly and release the glove box. The entire contents will spill out so either remove everything first and bag it or flip the floor mat over to act as as a spill catcher.
Right behind the glove box is the rectangle edge of the old filter if it had one. There’s usually a couple tabs on the edges that bend to unlock the filter. Take notice of how it was and discard it.
Slide the new one in and press on it to insure it locks into place. Usually a click will let you know it’s seated fully.
Lift the glove box door until the stops hit the frame around the glove box opening and press on each until the stop is no longer in the way. The door will go up into the opening and the stop will return to its original position. Do this for both or if you only have one then you are finished. Load up that glove box with whatever was in it and close it til it clicks and no longer needs you to hold it shut.
If it turns out you got the wrong part, you can use an air blower to clean out the original filter no more than like 20 or 30 psi at a distance of at least a foot and get the part number, take a photo and put it back where it was and start over.
Lol hopefully that doesn’t happen. Get your info for the app and add the car so you filter out the wrong parts.
Have fun.
