I replaced the factory worn out unit with this one and it flat works. No muss, no fuss. Saved some money in the process

It is important to pay attention to your serpentine belt on most Volvo cars. It is possible for the serpentine belt to unravel (they rarely just snap) and as it unravels it can get caught up in the timing gear and cause it to jump time, resulting in severe engine damage- bent valves. This tensioner should be replaced along with the serpentine belt. Because of its unfortunate design, your old tensioner can fracture if you put too much pressure on it during the replacement procedure. Make sure you use the correct size torx when you are installing the serpentine belt- this tensioner takes a T55 socket.

Cheap pot metal material, very poorly made.
