I have a 2009 Toyota Venza FWD 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 Engine. Around 72k+ miles while driving error code suddenly appeared on the dash showing “Brake, ABS, VSC, Check Brake and visit a dealer”. I have been keeping this vehicle in tip-top shape after its extended maintenance warranty with the dealer expired and been doing mostly DIY maintenance and repair. I plugged in my Bosch OBD1100 scanner tool and the fault reading shows C0205 Left Front speed sensor & C1131 open circuit in the left Front speed sensor circuit. I cannot simply rule out that it’s a bad sensor so I had to make sure that the circuit from the ABS controller is providing power to the sensor before I order any parts for replacement. As per the Toyota Service factory manual, using a digital multimeter and connecting leads on the female connector terminal, you should get a reading of 15Vdc from the wiring harness that provides power to the sensor (disconnect the snap-in connector just underneath the LF fender liner, you have to remove the fender liner to access the plug-in connector). Tested ok and power is present onto the next test – at the other end of the connector (male) that goes to the wheel sensor, do the same but put the multimeter to Ohm setting. TSFM states reading between 980-2350 ohms. Tested with only 400+ ohms – definitely shot sensor!
I did my research, and OEM part # for the Front Left (Driver side) sensor is 89543-0T010, replaced by 0T011, priced @ $163.25 before taxes and shipping. This aftermarket sensor costs 4X LESS than the OEM and is of the exact fitment. Comes in with the 2-sensor metal bracket/clamp, non-reusable plastic mounts, and the resin clamp, it’s a complete harness with the exact male connector at the end (no bolts included, reuse the existing 2x 10mm and 1 x 12mm bolts).
Now onto the replacement. Use choke wheels, lift the vehicle, and secure it with jack stands. Set aside the fender liner. Remove the plug-in connector under the fender leave the female end connector hanging then start prying off the male connector going to the wheel sensor and the other plastic fastener that holds the wire. Remove the # 2 sensor clamp (attached to the body frame) 10mm bolt, then remove the 12mm bolt that holds the # 1 sensor clamp (clamped in together with the brake flexible hose on the shock absorber assembly). Remove the resin clam (clipped on the shock absorber assembly) then remove the 10mm bolt that secures the wheel sensor (behind the disc brakes assembly).
Set aside the old harness sensor and make sure to clean the port (hole) of the wheel sensor making sure no foreign material or debris gets inside (use vacuum), also clean the 10mm bolt holding the sensor.
Installation in reverse order. Torque settings – 10mm bolt for sensor @ 71 in-lbs, 12mm bolt for # 1 sensor clamp holding both the brake flexible hose (make sure the clamp is underneath the brake hose clamp) @ 14 ft-lbs, 10mm bolt for # 2 sensor clamp @ 44 in-lbs, push in the new plastic fasteners then final step – connect the wiring harness to the female end.
Install fender liner, tire and remove jack stands and choke wheel. Wheel lug nut torque @ 76ft-lbs. Connect the OBD scanner and check for results (the scan will still show the error codes, proceed to erasing the codes). Reconnect OBD and perform a new scan – it should no longer show the code. Test drive and observe if the dash error will still appear. Run one last OBD and make sure error is cleared.
This is one of the 4-speed wheel sensor that has gone bad so far after 72+k miles 14 years old car. I’m pretty sure the remaining OEM sensors will soon follow but i have the an aftermarket option available anytime i need to replace one.

I purchased both front sensors in the combo pack but only needed to replace the driver front side. Very easy install and perfect fitment. I am impressed with the cable jacket and overall quality, looks better than OEM. I will update my review if there are any issues moving forward, only had it installed for three days. Mighty Venza lives again!

I was very happy with this, saved me a lot of money ordering a Toyota OEM unit. I had read some negative stuff about aftermarket sensors (wiring too short or didn’t work out of the box), but this was the perfect length (RF wheel), all the clips and brackets were perfect , and it immediately worked and I stopped throwing bad sensor codes.
