Cylinder and keys seem just as good as OEM to me.
Depending upon where I referenced the part, there is some disparity in whether the 924-796 would be correct for a 2009 Chevy Silverado, but it did for us.
For someone that doesn’t require a transponder chipped key, or intends to modify a new key with an old chip, this is a good value. Includes three nice enough keys as pictured.

So I didn’t understand what I bought at first I’m training to become a locksmith and I needed some practice on automotive wafer locks. The only issue I had is that you can’t turn this thing you put the key in and it doesn’t turn, it’s not because it’s broken or defective, it’s because I didn’t understand what I was getting and I got the cylinder only so in order for it to turn it has to have the housing around it.
So now that I’ve cleared up why I got this / it was not a replacement, I hope you can understand why I cannot speak to installation and only to my thoughts about the quality of the product. With that being said from everything I’ve been able to research / compare it to this is a proper fit for its intended vehicle and it is made to replace the cylinder inside the housing so you’ve got an ignition that’s fine except for the piece that turns inside of it this is made to be a direct replacement for that everything about it seems like it’s well put together the keys work eell all the way wafers function like they’re supposed to it does seem to be a proper item for its intended purpose and quality materials were used in its construction.
Do what you will with this information I’m sorry I could not be more informative or helpful everybody makes mistakes LOL
