The plastic band that hold the cap in place broke. It’s the second one that I ordered and it broke.

Just get the factory version. This didn’t save money as it caused my check engine light to go on and I had to go to the shop and pay for the diagnostic fee to find out the cap was leaking.

This gas cap may “fit” a 2006 corolla, but it doesn’t work properly. My check engine light came on. (In case you don’t know) OEM gas caps for 06 corolla have 1 click close/lock and this gas cap does not have this. The gas cap I bought has multiple clicks to close/lock. For fun, after resetting the check engine light I turned 2 clicks and went for a drive and the check engine light came on same code. Again, I reset and then turned 3 clicks and the light came on again and still same code. After all that “fun” because you have to drive after each reset of your check engine light. So, I went and bought OEM gas cap.

Purchased this fuel cap 2 months ago, filled up with gas today and cap will no longer lock into place (broken). Return is only allowed for 30 days, this product should come with a minimum warranty of 1 year. Very disappointing, been working on cars for over 30 years, very low quality.

I guess it was time for a replacement since my existing gas cap was over three years old. After installing the new one, two day later the engine light went off. Hasn’t come back on. Great and easy fix.

I bought this for my 2008 Lexus IS F that had the check engine light, check VSC, and traction control lights turned on. I replaced the gas cap with this one and those lights went away just in time for me to do emissions, however the lights did come back on again after about a week of driving and so I would suggest anyone thinking about purchasing this product to just go to your local Lexus dealer and get the OEM cap. I was quoted only $31 for it so not expensive at all and the lights will stay off as compared to this product that is a temporary fix. Every vehicle is different so you can try for yourself, but this did not fix the issue for me.
