If your BMW is stuck in 1 and won’t go to two, there is a good chance your check ball has shrunk. 2007 BMW 328XI

ill start with the basics –
i purchased these .250” checkballs so that i could replace the original, factory ones that have since been updated from their initial steel composition to these – which are made of a high strength plastic material – due to the steel checkballs having commonly damaged the valve body by wearing into their bore in many higher mileage vehicles.
i had no symptoms of this issue – however – i already had my tehcm on my bench due to needing to replace the pressure switch laminate seals & so id decided to replace my checkballs while i had the valve body dropped. atf is expensive & im not trying to replace it again some months down the line lol.
id also had the typical 2-3 shift that would break your neck – so in an effort to lessen that issue – it was welcome proactive service.
if you have a GM – 6L80 – 4L65 etc etc – & you’ve ever had to address anything check ball related – then you know they’re pretty much impossible to find in a retail auto parts store…. most will only have them as part of a valve body overhaul kit that will run you $300+…. & when all you need is the checkballs ….. that’s hard to even think about purchasing. otherwise you can special order them for $8 A PEICE …. & dependent upon your gen – you either need 7 or most of you need 8 …. that’s crazy for a couple marbles. (kidding, please don’t put marbles in your valve body. thank you)
this seller was the ONLY one i could find who offered them. aside from the major e-retailer of auto parts who wouldn’t be able to get them to me until over a weeks time & they also were $2-4 a peice. at $10 for 10 of them – i get 3 extra in case i lose one when it rolls off my bench – that cannot be beat. & seller was quick , had inventory stocked, listing was informative, to the point & product was as described – not missing any. no rough aspects of the checkballs. quality part. & alleviated my headache from trying to find them everywhere that wanted to make it difficult. fair price – even better than fair price – & as described.
i will absolutely purchase from this seller in the future should i need any of their product.

Steel balls beat spacer plates enough to enlarge the holes.
Then they can get stuck and cause poor transmission operation.
Sonnax imidized plastic balls work well without causing damage to the spacer plate. They are lighter and seal better without impact damage.
I’ve used plate repair inserts and these balls work well with them.
I recommend using these with new spacer plates.
Grace –
Work perfectly, no problems so far.

Does what’s it’s supposed to. Replaces own balls
