Well made, appears to be actually copper or brass, very cleanly machined.

It provides what it promises, a way to disconnect the positive terminal of a car battery from the circuit. Tracking down a slow power drain in a car’s 12-volt system can take time, and this simple device can help by disconnecting the battery without resorting to tools: the socket attaches to the battery terminal, the post to the positive power cable, and removing the bolt using the knurled knob allows the parts to slide apart.
It’s simpler and faster than resorting to tools to remove one battery terminal, but still something of a hassle. The parts have to be aligned perfectly to slide together, and starting the bolt into the threaded hole takes me a couple of tries unless it’s perfectly centered. Far easier than breaking out the socket set every evening, and easy enough for temporary use, but not nearly as convenient as the knife switch or turning knob found on some competing kill switch products.
