not an OEM spec item. cable that goes to the left hook is short making the hood not latch down. Also the fasteners on the junction box fasteners are fragile and brakes at first contact with the corresponding holes

Worked just like the oem. The only thing bad is where it’s installed in the chasis the pins are a bit separated. Have to bend it a bit

I had to use a dremel tool to make slot for the cable to slide in. And plastic pins to mount housing to fender were too big. I don’t recommend this item.

Perfect fit for 2008 X5 3.0 (E70). Fixed hood latch issue where it would not unlatch on front passenger side.

great replacement of original hood release. It’s always the passenger side that would fail first.
