I got this because there is a battery drain in my Honda Accord and can not find it, so bought this to keep the battery from being drained but there was still some kind of connection because the battery would still drain. Disappointed, now i will have to go back to manual disconnect. I am always skeptical when i see a product made in China cause they are poor quality. My fears were released again with this purchase.

the product works but trying to connect it as battery disconect was to buky so I THEW AWAY THE BATTERY CONNECTION AND installed it as starter fuse disconnect which what I actually wanted and works great

I have a 1963 Buick Wildcat and was interested in putting in a hidden switch to kill the ignition. This is a age old method to help with theft deterrents, however, I realized with modern technology, there may be a better way.
These wireless / remote relays seem to generally be sold as a method to avoid phantom battery drain, but really you could use them in any situation you’d like to have a remote 12V switch with up to 200A ability.
For my situation, I used this to switch the main 12V power coming into the car. I hooked up the switch ground (-) and positive (+) to the post on the relay that was connected to my battery (+). So far the switch now has power and can be controlled by the remote. The other post on the relay, I hooked up to my main fuse block controlling my switched power circuits.
The result is that I can now switch my power on and off to the main switched power on the car. When off, the only items that work are ones constant power such as the clock. Everything else is dead. The installation only took about 20 minutes. Most of that was making up a new wire to allow my adding this relay to the circuit. Then simply picking out a clever place to hide it, but also allow easy access if it failed and I needed to bypass it.
One unexpected feature was the ability to kill the power to the car walking into the store realizing I had left my headlights on. No problem, just shut the power off and forget about it till I return! I’ve already recommended this to several classic car friends as an easy, non-intrusive way to add some protection and a little technology to an old car. For the price, it’s a very cost affective addition.

Inspect every mm of your parts if you dare to buy. Installed three days ago on daughter’s CX5 that has manufacturer known drain issue.
Yesterday, daughter calls and says lights and bells went off when she shifted in to drive – bells stopped and she started driving. I was on phone with her and knew it was something with battery and quickly tried to tell her to pull over but she already entered highway. Sure enough, just as I told her to safely move to shoulder when she found next area since she was about to go downhill a curvy mountain road, entire car lost power and shut down… imagine hearing your child say “Oh my God, I’ve got nothing!”.
I drive an hour, pop the hood and wiggle negative- lifts right off – alloy terminal connector they sent was cracked at the bolt end – see pics. I’m kicking myself for not inspecting the part fully beforehand, but brand new, it was rainy and dark when I installed.
Closer examination in bright sunlight? It was cracked at manufacturing and painted over. See pic. You can see cracked through edge is silver painted.
Almost lost my daughter down that road if she had gone 1000 more feet to the crest and headed down – with rock face on one side of road, guide rail on right that dropped down thousand feet.
The $19 refund would of been a slap in the face if she had an accident.

I installed it on a 70 beetle. Kills the whole car. 1st unit didn’t work,the replacement works great. Hope it holds up.

This works very well for me. I installed it on the positive side of my battery because it was easier for me than the negative side. What I’m surprised about is that you cannot turn this thing off while the car is running. It will only shut off when the engine stop. Work as advertised great product. I basically install this because I have a huge parasite drain on my battery.So this fixed for now till I find a real fix and I don’t have to lift the hood up

Very easy to install works great. Have a draw on my battery that I can’t find. This allows me to disconnect the battery with the push of a button. No more dead battery.
