Bought this to replace an old burnt out plug on my compressor. The product itself is very well made. However… What I found that isn’t so great was the positive sprung tip is too stiff. The spring is way too stiff that the plug does not stay in to keep a good contact well. It pushes the plug back that any bump or jolt will cause a disconnect in contact. The other thing was the internal contacts to solder the wires. The positive and negative are way too close and not designed for larger gauge wries. It is more suited for 22 gauge or smaller. My wires were 16 gauge and I had to really flatten to spread the strands across the solder contact to barely clear touching the negative. Why they make them so close is beyond me. When you make a 20amp plug, need to make sure it can accommodate 20 amp size wires. 4 stars because it is a well made product, would been 5 stars if it was made to accommodate 20 amp worth of rating.

I bought these plugs to have on hand for when I inevitably break plug ends. I broke one on a portable air compressor and rather than replacing it, I opted to buy these plugs. They are well built and sturdy and I can see them lasting a long time. Only thing to consider is make sure you are comfortable soldering as that is the only way to connect your wires to these plugs.

I had multiple car tire pumps that needed new plugs fitted, because the stock plugs fell apart. One of them fell apart in the car’s lighter socket and shorted out the fuse, so that was fun. These are a HUGE improvement over those stock plugs.
First, these are difficult to get open unless you’re actually trying to, so I’m not too worried about these coming apart spontaneously in my car’s socket any time soon. They are nicely built, with a screw and nut to hold them together and a screw-on end to the plug. Very nice. It’s very easy to feed the wires through the included strain reliefs, solder to the pre-tinned tabs in the connector (since there’s an LED soldered to them already, making it easy to just add on some fresh solder and get the wires nice and tightly connected), and it all looks completely professional and stock in the end. Just awesome.
I am really pleased with these. I needed 2, so I’ve got a spare on hand for when some other plug fails on some junky car accessory.
