Lots of other clay towels now on the market at a better value. This clay towel does the job though and will last for quite a few washes. Let the towel do the work, don’t use force and make sure you have the area lubricated well with was soap or in my case I use a foam or ONR. The towel makes quick work out of of a decent clay job. I’d still opt for a clay bar, especially for those tight areas a towel just can’t get to. For a quick job though, this towel definitely gets a thumbs up.

Before these synthetic products were invented, I used to use a clay bar with a lubricant to clean the contaminants off of my car’s paint. The problem with that is the contaminants get stuck to the clay bar and you need to constantly fold it into itself to make sure you don’t use dirty clay on your smooth paint.
Then synthetic clay bars were released into the market and they were a game changer for me. You still have to use lubricant, but you could just rinse them off occasionally to get off contaminants. In my experience, they also last longer if you take care of them and store them properly when not in use.
Then came the clay towel and the experience has been improved again. This towel has a larger surface area of “clay” so you can finish the job that much quicker. Once again, you still need to use a proper lubricant with this, so don’t try to use just this towel without that. Also, be careful to follow the manufacturer’s temperature requirements. A cool car is much easier to work on and will not decrease the lifespan of your towel sooner than advertised.

I love 3D car care products and this one has made for an excellent clay bar alternative that is reusable. The towel is well made with a good amount of surface area to provide a wide area of coverage. Works and functions the same way a clay bar does – just apply clay lubricant to the surface and work in a grid pattern. I found it removed a lot of surface contaminants, as much as possible for a non-clay product. Really great for when you just want to do a quick detail without having to do a lengthy clay bar process.

I’m not entirely sold in the idea these are cleanable and reusable but they do work well. I was not able to get an appreciable amount of embedded dirt off a section I’d used one on on a follow up pass with a clay bar. That says to me it’s a good product for surface prep. So much easier to use than clay as well. Much larger contact patch and not as much pressure required or folding between areas. If they are as reusable as they say then it’s a great deal, if not then it’s a more expensive but easier to use solution to clay bar prep work on car finishes. Either way there’s no question it works just a matter of cost and value.

This is a great towel for detailing your cars surface. I have not used other towels but this is a very nice product. Make sure to have a lubricant when using this clay towel on your paint and be gentle when using. I like this because it doesn’t leave swirl marks like some buffers. Rinse it off between uses then you can throw it in the wash when necessary.

I wasn’t happy with the last cloth clay towel but I decided to try this 3D clay towel a try, I’m happy I did made a huge difference. I compared this with a claybar and i couldn’t tell a difference and in the time it took me to do a small area with the clay bar, I did the entire hood with this towel and got great results. Definately switching to this and a huge time saver. Better yet, since it’s towel, its easy to over curves and contours of vehicle, large size so you can rotate used areas and keep going, rinse with water and it ready to use again and box says its machine washable. Worth getting for anyone who likes to detail their cars.

Still getting used to the world of detailing, and I found that I quickly went through my clay bars because I am very clumsy and kept dropping them.
I use this just as I would any normal bar of clay. Wash the surface, dry accordingly, and then I use a premixed clay lubricant as I use this to clean the surface. I only use this when I am going to follow up with a full polishing because this can mar the clear coat if you aren’t careful (or a complete amateur like myself). But overall, given how much I will be claying my cars, this is perfect for me. I think this is absolutely worth the price and very much a worthy addition to my suite of detailing tools.
