If you’re trying to lift a bed, don’t buy these. The brackets are terrible. They have no hardware. The instructions are terrible. And I’m someone who can do most handyman jobs. I’ve built furniture and boats so I know my way around tools. Do not buy these.

These are heavy duty hydraulic pistons that will definitely keep whatever you want open when you lift the hatch up .

The struts themselves seem decent and well made, however the mounting brackets provided are design in such a way that they need to withstand a significant amount of lateral force and are not robust enough to support the ‘200lb strut’ I ordered. It looks like the same brackets are provided whether you order the 10lb strut all the way up to a 200lb strut. When first installed with a single mounting bracket, the bracket started to buckle under the weight. Doubling up the mounting brackets solved that issue but you’ll then need to buy additional brackets to install the second strut, so be prepared for that. 5 stars for the struts, 1 star for the brackets

These are good shocks but not very adaptable. Check your configuration and the shocks design carefully

My wife and I replaced our mattress in our Keystone Cougar with a 12 in memory foam mattress the 35ib factory strut wouldn’t hold the bed up anymore. These struts fixed the problem, though the mounts that came with the struts wouldn’t fit my application I was able to just use the factory mounts and just replace the strut. Now the bed stays up allowing easy access to the storage compartment under the bed.

They do there job. The ONLY problem was that they came uncompressed. We had to use a floor jack and a tow strap to compress them so they could be installed. I did end up making some different brackets out of angle iron because the ones that came with it bent. I don’t know if they bent because of the way we had to install them or because of cheap metal. I would recommend this for purchase by anyone that has mechanical skills. If they came compressed it would have saved me a lot of time and effort.
